management asked for him to tone it down a bit with his kid in the clubhouse. Apparently he was there every day last year. What a jackass
Very happy day for sox fansWhat a crybaby.
Seriously... what job can someone have where they can take their kid to work every single day? That's just ridiculous. What about the part where the kid should be socializing with other kids his age?Very happy day for sox fans

Seems like the Sox are the big winners in this transaction. They are off the hook for his, what(?), 13M?
Why would the Whitesox players consider boycotting the game? That's stupid
Than it seems he should file a grievance, not retire. This story gets better and better. Think I'm moving to the LaRoche side if this is true:
CSN Chicago’s David Kaplan reports a number of elements on the decision, including the fact that allowing Drake to be in the clubhouse every day was actually a requirement for LaRoche to even sign with the Sox in the first place (Twitter link). According to Kaplan (link), LaRoche would not have signed with Chicago had he not been promised full access for his son, and both Ventura and GM Rick Hahn agreed to the situation before LaRoche was signed (link).
