Wesley Johnson is playing with a great deal of confidence tonight. He looks a little bit like a younger version of Kobe who plays better defense.

Awesome stat line. Like retro said, when he plays like this, he covers up a lot of the Lakers deficiencies.

It's also easier on him all the way around because him distributing the ball means that when he shoots, he gets easier shots because he's not always fighting double teams.

Near the end of last season he was hitting that shot, he shot very well in March and April. I'm agreeing with you, he should focus on points in the paint for the most part, but I don't think he should eliminate the mid range from his game altogether.

He shouldn't eliminate them but his volume is too high. He can't hit them and its a waste of a possession to shoot so many if you're that poor of a shooter.

He's been making them a lot more this season, he's developed his game overall this season.

Not really. He's shooting them more but they still aren't going in. Last month he hovered around 35%, which is slightly below league average for that shot (I haven't looked up the exact number, just going off memory). He's been awful since. In the past, his volume (50 or less shots) isn't enough to really say definitively if he's a good or bad at that shoot but the trend in his percentage is he's below average. So far this year, he's anywhere from below average to just plain bad but his volume is a lot higher. That's why he needs to dial it back.
