Can't see this team making the playoffs if Kobe misses roughly the first 2 months of the year and comes back at the end of December.

47 points allowed in the first quarter? Really?

The 47 pts was more due to the Kevin combo flat out raining to start.

Those T-Wolves are looking like a possible top 6 seed in the West if they stay healthy

Well the first few games they got a jolt of energy playing against teams like the Clippers and a few others but it started to die down a bit - it's hard to play with consistency when you have a roster like this

Lakers are toast even with Kobe... and let's be serious for a minute... on THIS Lakers team what is old-man Kobe going to do except chuck 25-30 shots a night (and play zero Defense)?

It's 2006 all over again for the LakeShow.

They have an excellent starting 5. Adelman has already learned that due to the weak bench he needs to sit the starters 2 or 3 at a time. It's working better.

Sometimes the team gets sloppy and takes dumb shots(usually with big leads) but the fast paced offense will make them a tough out.

Hopefully it's finally the year they get back in the playoffs and maybe steal a series.

father time is reaking havoc on Kobe/Pau/Nash . Young legs around the NBA are showing up this year.

LBJ is becoming the old veteran now.

I say keep Kobe on the bench and use the lottery. They need talented youth. They have only two first round picks in the next 5 years. Sieze the moment.

The Lakers aren't a better team without Kobe, but there are some nights they will/ would play better without him.

The Lakers have one of those rosters where one of a few shooters has the ability to get hot if given the opportunity. If Kobe's firing up tons of shots, 'that' player might never be found on those nights.

Face it, when you are projected to win 35 games, be a 12 seed, there is a reason.

There is absolutely nothing special on this Lakers roster ( without Kobe).
Most of the time, they aren't even watchable.

Is there any roster in the league with less star power or upside with youth?

Kobe can't play defense anyway. He will just help the offense. Defense was screwed as soon as they hired D'Antoni.

Kobe was the youngest ever selected to an All-NBA defensive team :L Yet you jokers are saying he doesn't play defense lmao.

With or without Kobe, the Lakers will not make the playoffs this year. They are even worse off, personnel wise, than last year.

I have to admit that was one of the most frightening quarters I've seen defensively ever. It's like no one gave a damn at that end of the ball...

Yeah, it appears that their only shot at the playoffs is for Kobe to come back and at least be close to what he was last year. Some of these guys are showing that they can play a little bit, but it's star players that keep teams in games like last night when the rest of the team is struggling.

I didn't think so during the summer, but Mitch has put together a #tankforwiggins caliber roster. I'm not even sure Kobe will help out that much.

if kobe isn't ready pretty soon..nash is having back issues.gasol is his same inconsistent self..maybe you just throw in towel...lottery bound maybe. not likely for wiggins or anything but they got Bynum at #10 when he was drafted...seems like that's where they are on pace to finish again...and really im not sure how much kobe coming back fixes team struggles...improves sure...but if your going to barely make playoffs and lose in 1st round...a lottery pick goes well with the incoming cap room
