One thing to keep in mind is that, while Collins isn't on the police's radar right now, he's not completely off of it. As it's turning out, there's no evidence, for the time being, directly inculpating as a primary offender in the double murder. But there's also nothing to exculpate him as a primary/secondary actor either. Until they catch the perps and get the whole story, the specter of Collins involvement in this crime will continue to lurk with him and the Cowboys. What's still a mystery to me is why Collins hasn't issued a press release declaring his innocence in any involvement with the murder.

But the one thing I have always maintained is shut up and say nothing guilty or innocent. Because if you decry your innocence loudly and you actually did do it, it will bite you in the ass. Flip side if you are stone cold guilty and remain silent, you can always play the I was to remorseful for my obvious mistake and plead IM sorry at sentencing.

Opportunity - Collins has 10 witness's that have him in New Orleans at the time of her death. And he passed a POLICE Polygraph not admissible in court but a great tool to exonerate or help implicate a "Person of Interest" and not easy to pass for your everyday John Smith.

Means- Collins is a kid in college and while he could have ordered something like this paying later with his NFL Paycheck, the odds are greatly reduced based on Motive and Opportunity as mentioned above.

Sadly In America Now you are guilty until proven Innocent.

Motive... the Kid wasnt born yet and old girl was telling him it is his kid. IF you have never seen the panic in a guys eyes when told a kid he doesnt want, might be his... that right there is motive

Means.......He was looking at being an instant millionaire as a first round draft pick. You get the right crack head, and he will kill some one for $500. Odds are some where between $500 and $50k promised would have secured some one to do the deed.


As far as guilty until proven innocent. I call Bullshit there. Because within the past three years we have seen a man walk who admitted to stalking and killing some ones child. But the presumption of innocence allowed a human piece of shit to continue walking the streets.

There is a give and take with things like this. On the one hand, it's legally prudent to remain silent and lawyer up. But this is now without consequences, not the least of which is the social downside in being viewed as someone who has something to hide. And guess what? That's not just limited to the public, but police as well. If you truly are innocent, you don't lose a whole lot by saying something like "I never killed my ex-girlfriend and I categorically deny and involvement in her murder." This statement, which is as short and pithy as it is broadly declarative, can work effectively under most circumstances.

Lets just say I wouldnt wish Child Support enforcement on some one I actually hated. And as I have known people to kill themselves over being slaves to that system.... Its not hard for me to think a young kid would contemplate murder to NOT be dragged into it.

Sorry, we actually got a real GM and not an old man trying to get one Superbowl that he doesent owe to Jimmy Johnson before he kicks it.

SO there shall be no trading of draft picks, and even if Griffin sucks again( as I suspect he might) you do realize that 3 of the last 4 QBs he had input on have all been to NFC Championship games, and two of those have lombardi's. So Im kinda comfortable with our situation at the moment.

Been there with the girl saying its your Kid done that and knew it was not mine. I have first hand experience proving my innocence over their assumption of my guilt. Child support enforcement is Jaded in ways only those that have been through it can understand. I have been on both sides and it suxx PERIOD.

Being a "Person Of Interest " should be banned from the Police Lexicon as it denotes guilt without any proof of a crime being committed.

Colors... I will simply say this..... America is the only country with a presumed innocence clause built into our legal system. And yet per capita we have the highest rate of violent offenders despite not having the highest population base. Our crime rate, Violent crimes mind you, is in some cases TRIPLE the world average. The whole concept of we would rather see 50 guilty men go free rather than one innocent man be wrongly convicted has completely and utterly failed.

As for Collins, if he is really innocent... then I hope he has a long and healthy life... and sucks ass as long as he is in Dallas.

If he had ANYTHING to do with this, I hope he fries. I can understand the possible motive, trust me on that. But at the end of the day a woman and a child are dead. And I hope they bring who ever was ultimately responsible to justice.

Colors, you have to remember the murder did occur before Collins knew the baby wasn't his. I don't see this cloud going away until they arrest a suspect.

I will add though Collins did in fact pass a lie detector test. Yes I know they are not 100% perfect but I know some poligraphers and they know the body signs of liars. If he passed the machine and the tester didn't get that he did it feeling he's most likely innocent.

As much as I hate to admit it, this was a good, low risk, signing by Dallas. They got a 1st round talent for a song. The worst case scenario is they lose a small bit of money (in the grand scheme of things) over 3 years. The best case is the have 4 PB caliber players on their OL for the next 5 years or so. I would have gladly taken that risk if we could have signed him.
