Gotta feel bad for the seniors. Went 9-3 and don't go to a bowl because the people in charge weren't satisfied with the independence bowl against Louisiana Monroe. I would've liked to watch Colby cameron and quinton Patton, even on a Tuesday night

No, Louisiana Tech did. I feel terrible for their seniors. I feel bad for players on teams like Penn State that were ineligible all year and knew they wouldn't be going bowling, but this is even worse. They were in the top 25 most of the year and have probably been looking forward to their bowl all week but with this news has to be pretty upsetting. I doubt any of their players wouldve declined a bowl bid.

ULM fans are furious at what LaTech did. I feel awful for the student athletes, they had a great team this year. However, I think that serves the administration right. But all in all, I just wish they would have taken the game. ULL vs LATech would have been a fun game to watch.

Yeah. This one is kind of a head scratcher. I read somwhere that they may have been holding out for something else (maybe the Liberty Bowl?). Definitely sucks for the La Tech players. A chance to beat up on little brother right down the road. Not sure what the administration was thinking. I bet the HC went the hell off.

They wanted to go to the Heart of Dallas Bowl or the Liberty Bowl, but the Independence Bowl wouldn't wait. They decided to turn down the Independence Bowl and then didn't get a big from any of the other bowls and now will be at home.

Sonny Dykes has posted twice today on twitter:

2 hr ago: I'm heartbroken for our 31 seniors that have given so much for Louisiana Tech. They deserve to finish their careers in a bowl game.

And was quoted as saying “Under no circumstances did I ever think there was any possibility at all that we would not play in a bowl game.”

I just don't understand how Georgia Tech gets given a pass to play in a bowl game but Middle Tennessee and LA Tech end up with nothing.

Northern Illinois is the reason why they couldn't get into the Liberty Bowl. Due to Oklahoma getting bumped out of the BCS, the Big 12 had an extra bowl-eligible team to spare, which is how Iowa St. ended up becoming available and apparently, a Tulsa-Iowa St. rematch is more compelling.
