Cavs only got better. Gonna be more loaded next year with the Thomas/Rose which is>>>>> Irving since 2 is better than one. Irving/Lebron could only do so much. Now they gotta a full arsenal.

If Rose stays healthy, Cavs taking it all next year for sure

Kyrie- you were just traded for a pretty beloved guy in Boston--- they gave up a shit load to get you

you got your team--- and you have a SHIT LOAD of pressure on your back. Those Boston fans are gonna expect a LOT--- are you and Hayward and Horford enough? Are Brown and Tatum ready?

should be fascinating to see.

Isiah Thomas- he doesnt even need to be what he was with the Celtics- he doesnt need to be going crazy all the time....him and Rose just have to keep it together during the regular season.

you are playing with LeBron. Watch how easy the game gets Isiah

watch how easy the game gets when you have LeBron on the court, Kyle Korver in one corner and Kevin Love in the other corner.

Jae Crowder is a huge get because now you can send him at the other teams best wing. I know NO ONE is covering Durant--- but Jae Crowder is a LOT BETTER than anyone the Cavs had last year not named LeBron---- and now you can h ave LeBron play off him, conserve his energy and play passing lanes--- what he does best.

Um, you have been mocking Rose for years with his injuries.....now he's good?

Both teams win. There are few times where you get the chance to add a player of Kyries talent and Danny finally made the deal everyone was waiting for. He gets the better player now, and the player who is 5 years younger and less likely to fade on the next contract. No one here would pay IT what he will get.

To get that better situation, Ainge had to give up the Brooklynn pick. This deal is about 2018 and beyond. Boston will have a core of Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Irving. Check out Irvings stats against GS. He was unbelievable.

Yup, he will need to fit in to Brad's system, but when he hears how loud the jungle gets, he will know he is in the greatest building to win more titles.

Cleveland gets a top 5 pick and crowder out of this deal. I am not convinced IT is a landmine as he will be 30 years old getting paid $35M times 4 years until he is 34 or 35. Danny ducked out of having to make that deal, and he ducked out of the friction that Crowder had with Boston signing Hayward.

I am in, but I will deeply miss IT

Eh who cares? Did the Cavs hire someone to sweep Curry/Durant's leg yet?

Yup, you can't just sit on assets. This is a good deal for the Cavs, but I like it for the Celtics, too. There might not be a better scorer than Kyrie, and like you said, he is still only 25 years old. On top of that, I think that the Celtics were always looking to move Thomas anyway. I don't think they wanted to commit big money to an undersized player who would be nearly 30 years old next offseason.
Yeah, I don't know...

They turned the #1 overall pick this year, Brooklyn's pick next year, Bradley, Crowder, Thomas, Olynyk...

Into

The Lakers pick, Tatum, Morris, Irving, Baynes, Hayward.

That looks like a L to me....unless Thomas is hurt.

I don't think they ever intended to max him.

But, they gave up too much for Kyrie...imo

That pick is the problem and they are going to get slaughtered defensively.

Isaiah is already about as chip-on-the-shoulder as you can get.

Add in the fact that the team he took to a #1 seed and made an all-nba team with just traded him.... throw in a contract year leading up to his 1st big payday.

Yeah, this dude's gonna be motivated.

Lmao....this was a Cavs win.

PG traded for Olidipo, Sabonis.

Butler traded for Dunn, Lavine.

CP3 traded for Beverly, Williams, Harrell, Dekker.

Cousins traded for Buddy fucking Hield .

Kyrie traded for Thomas, Crowder and Brooklyn pick.

Cavs the only Team on this list who won the trade that their star player forced.

Pfff. Yeah right

I'm not gonna jump all over your comment here because you might be right, M... I'll only mention that it would be peculiar if the C's got rid of IT and somehow became worse defensively. That doesn't seem to add up.

C's still have some solid, versatile defenders in Smart, Hayward and J Brown. I don't see "slaughtered" on this front. But they could use more size/rebounding... definitely.

Here's a couple of fun facts:

• No pair of 25 points-per-game scorers have ever been swapped for each other the following season. Until now. Kyrie Irving and Isaiah Thomas will be the first in NBA history (via Elias Sports Bureau).

• Kyrie Irving was the No. 1 pick in the 2011 NBA Draft. Isaiah Thomas was the last pick (60th overall) in that same draft.

We lost Bradley and Crowder. The defense definitely took a hit.

Hey guys, the Celtics were not going to win it all with IT as the top paid player- period. Additionally, they needed to find space for Brown, Tatum and the dancing bear to play. Moving Crowder does that. I now think that Tatum is in a great position to be ROY. Tatum will be starting or a major piece by middle to end of year. Celtics will win about the same amount but by playoffs they will have their system down

Crazy......Irving is still smack dab in his prime.....IT has maybe a few years left at being good....and he's due a huge payday next summer.

Oh, no doubt... I wouldn't argue with that. Gotta factor in the positive of jettisoning IT here, though.

The C's have guys who can step in on this front, too... Smart can pick up the Bradley slack, J Brown can pick up the Crowder slack. There will be a drop off, especially at first... but these aren't holes.

They both came in the league the same year. IT is still in his prime as well.

I think they'll start Irving and Tatum in the backcourt.

They can afford to start Tatum with the rest of the lineup littered with veterans.
