He'd have better chances in another sport where he'd just serve a suspension, issue an apology and get back, but he's gonna have to land sponsorship and a team is gonna have to be willing to sign him.

He might go the Kurt Busch route and drive for a shit team for a couple of years, keep his nose clean and rebuild his reputation and come back, but he's done driving for a championship level team for a while anyways.

Nope. His wins with the 1 were all with either Bass Pro Shops or some bank sponsoring him.

They might be a curse. Bill Elliott had them as a sponsor for every race for like 6 seasons and never won a race with them.

Ganassi has Chastain in his back pocket. If I were a betting man, Chastain is the new driver of the 42 for the foreseeable future.

If Newman is back when they start racing again, maybe.

If I were Chip, I'd go with a variety of drivers for the rest of this season, and lure in Christopher Bell for next season. Joe Gibbs is crowded, and the 95 is nothing like the 78 was as an affiliation.

And another thing to ponder is, Larson was likely the favorite to take over for Jimmie Johnson at Hendrick, but there's no way that'll happen now, so who replaces Jimmie? Jr Motorsports doesn't have any prospects that look real promising right now.

I'm thinking Jimmie pulls a Mark Martin and comes back, especially if he's competitive this year.
