I wont even get into the Flacco v. Dalton discussion because their is none.

Until Dalton leads his team in the playoffs to a single win much less a SB victory they are miles apart. The regular season is just that regular nothing special. The playoffs is where they make there money.

I didnt say Flacco had a good year he had a bad one. But he also was extremely under duress. I think you are completely wrong about Rice and I would still take him over an underperforming / choking Gio Bernardo.... A better offensive line means alot to Flacco as he is a stand in the pocket passer...If Dalton was pressured as much as Flacco was this year he would have throw 100 int's...he threw 4 against us in week 17 and wasnt pressured at all while Flacco was sacked twice and harrassed all day.

You cant convince me a better OL wouldnt improve both Flacco and Ray Rice dramatically.

Not comparing them. You are.

As for the OL, clearly a better OL improves ANY QB and RB...that goes without saying...of course, unless the player is washed up...as Ray Rice appeared to be.

I was just pointing out that, even when not under pressure, Flacco was throwing INT's. 50% of his INT's came with no pressure whatsover.

Now, if you want to compare that to Dalton, then go ahead, but just remember, I didn't start that, you did. I know what Dalton is, and what he isn't. But, again, I didn't bring his name into this convo. You did. As if by pointing out how poor Dalton is, that makes Flacco better. Might want to try using a higher bar at QB to set for Flacco. Maybe like Ben R, or others.

Im not comparing them and I think washed up is a bit harsh when speaking of Ray Rice. What adjective would you use to explain Gio Bernardo and his game against SD?

He had a shitty game.

I'm not sure we can judge a promising young running back on one game in their rookie year.

I agree nor can we judge a Pro Bowl rb that was injured the whole year and had a bad year as a result and was runnimg behind an OL that was terrible. I think we have to wait.

If Ray Rice comes out next year and does nothing and BP has a great year I will be the first to say 'trade him'.

You are trying to extrapolate one game into an entire year for Bernard, and it won't work, and doesn't work, that way. I mean, he had the fumble, yes. But he caught 7 of his 10 passes (should have been 8 of 10), had 45 yards on 12 attempts, for a 3.8 average...not bad, not great. Average. Had 2 first downs running and 4 first downs on his 7 receptions. That's not bad by any stretch, really. Especially for a rookie. He's not an All-Pro like Rice has been the past 4 years.

Ray Rice sucked for 15 games. Not just average for 1 game, but below average for the better part of the entire schedule. Just a 3.1 YPC, a full yard and a half below his average from his 1,000 yard seasons. Only 28 first downs, nearly half of his 1,000 yard season averages. Only 5.5 per reception, nearly 3.25 yards less per reception (no OL to blame here) on his 1,000 yard averages. Only 13 First downs receiving, nearly half of his normal average...

His numbers across the board were down, and not just in areas affected by the OL.

Also, in the games I watched him play, he looked bad. Slow. No lateral movement. No burst of speed. No power.

If he was hurt (he says he wasn't) then he should not have been out there. If he was hurt (and again, he says he wasn't) the team errored in keeping him on the field. If you say you are not hurt, and you put up crappy numbers, you can't turn around after the season and say, yeah, well, I was hurt all year...:bs:

Either you play and take what you get, or you are hurt and you sit out until you heal. You don't get to play, and then use that as an excuse.

I was merely using an 'extremely' small sample of Bernardo and comparing it to Ray Rices season. I understand that my sampling was small but injuries happen and for you to say that Ray Rice is washed up in lieu of his injury its like u have his jersey on your 'hope' chest and want him to be injured.

Fact is neither of us know but the news is the man was injured and if so I look for him to have a great year next year. For your sake u better hope Gio can play better next year then he did in that last game.

If he was injured, chances are slim that he'll be back to what he was.

If he wasn't injured, he's washed up.

Gio is likely going to be a good back for the next three or four years. But he's a small guy that's going to get by on his lateral quickness -- If he's used a lot over the next four years, he'll likely hit a wall and be done. Just like Rice.

Alright whatever. If your goal is him being washed up so u can sleep at night carry on.

When he runs for 1,000 yds next year and has his normal 5-600 yds receiving dont be shocked.

Sorry to offend you. I'm just speaking off of prior histories. Look at running backs over the past decade or so. How many of them have more than 4 1000 yard seasons?

They break down. Age hits the position in ways it doesn't hit other positions. It's just a fact.

the Ravens will be prepared for his eventual breakdown next season, whether their fans idolize him or not, the Ravens are not the Bengals, they aren't run by homer clowns.

U didn't offend me . I am not a huge Ray Rice fan I like the guy but my style is for a big fast rb that runs people over...if he sucks next year I hope we trade his ass

With that said I just don't think he is washed up.

It has nothing to do with Ray Rice. Duh. It has to do with common sense. RB's only have a shelf life of so many years....after that they fall off a cliff. Rice's time has come and gone. He was awesome. That time is over, though.
