We will have Osemele at guard back and hopefully a real center...ad Oher will be gone.

Thats a guard center and a RT....Our OL SUCKED THIS YEAR!

You have to replace them all though.... If it were easy to have a dominant or even competent line, everyone would have it. It's not.

The Ravens need a center, need a guard and might need two tackles. One of those tackles will probably have to come in the first two rounds. That's going to be a tough rebuild.

The D is fine, but Suggs might need to go. He makes a little too much money to disappear as often as he does.

We dont need to replace them all both our guards and LT Monroe are fine. K.Osemele was out with a back operation and he is a big LG that is in his 2nd year and is fine. Yanda at RG is obviously fine and Monroe who we picked up half way through this year will do great with a year under him.

Its Center and RT that are the weaknesses.

I dont see Suggs going anywhere he does make a ton but i give one more year in a Ravens uniform before they do something.

Monroe isn't free. He's an unrestricted free agent this spring and he'll look to get paid. That's three positions on the line that might need new contracts/draft picks.

Monroe is staying...Oher is gone Gradkowski is a back up. We need a RT and a Center.

We will probably be releasing or shopping Ngata and a few others that haven't performed up to their contracts. There will be room remember we have the best in the business in Ozzie Newsome.

I don't disagree. Ozzie is one of the best in the business.

But the new CBA changed the landscape of the league. If you continue to be successful, you'll continue to pick late in each round.... Moreover, you'll have to pay your successful players. At this point, it's better to only have a few 'older' players that cost a ton and a nucleus of guys that are on their first or second contracts. The Patriots have stayed relevant because they get rid of their vets before they start to decline. They then stock draft picks and replace them with younger players.

The Ravens did this a little last year, but it was more because their hand was forced.

I know the OL play was bad this year.

But Ray Rice's best "sprint" of the season was when he scored the 2pt conversion against the Bengals in week 17, and sprinted into Harbaugh's arms.

Unfortunately, Rice was unable to break free, and another tackle unbroken for Rice.

he's not as good as he used to be, and certainly not a feature back anymore. But I guess if Reggie Bush can continue, so can Rice.

No matter if our hand was forced or not the Ravens are young. Fact is their is a ton of value in the 2nd 3rd and 4th rounds and Ozzie has done a laymen s job of finding it.

If picking at the beginning of the first round was what made championship teams then Cleveland and Detriot would have 9 titles. It matters little.

Yards after contact.

Broken tackles

Lowest number of:

Carries, yards, receptions, TD's, first downs converted, yards per carry, yards per catch

and that when he ran the ball, he looked like he was 55 years old.

I could be 100% wrong, but the Rice that the NFL saw this year was a guy who looked like he was pretty much done. Poor OL play or not, when you can't get yards after contact, and can't get more than 13 broken tackles, there is something wrong. He wasn't making guys miss anymore, and he looked very slow.

I mean, he had 13 broken tackles on the year. That's only 13 more than I had sitting on my couch. Acutally...that's not true, I escaped a few times to get a beer, so maybe it was more like a 13-4 ratio

Its no secret that Ray Rice was injured this year and it happened early;he was never the same.

However, if you are basing your analysis of Ray on Carries, yards, receptions, TD's, first downs converted, yards per carry, yards per catch....Then please explain why Bernard Pierce in his second year had an equally miserable year after blowing up last year?

I think you will find that those of us that watched every down of RR and BP will give you an honest assessment and that is that Ray Rice was injured and our OL was miserable.

Because, as I've said before...Rice didn't even look good in the open field. 13 broken tackles. Pierce at least "looked" like he was running the ball.

I think at one point Pierce had 60 more broken tackles despite less carries than Rice. That's not because the OL decided to block for him and not Rice.

Rice said his injury was 100%, and that it didn't affect him. If that wasn't the case, then shame on him and the coaching staff for running him out there for 15 games, because he looked like a RB who is in major decline.

I've said that I could be 100% wrong. I might be. I have an open mind. We'll see next year. Can you be open minded enough to say that the team needs to at least invest in a RB at some point in this draft, or a F/A? RB's fall fast and hard once they hit their wall, and there's no magical formula or age to know when it will happen. They just show up one year, and can't run, can't cut, can't break tackles, and look bad. Much like Rice did this season despite the poor OL play. I saw my fair share of Raven games, and even when Pierce didn't do well, he still *Looked* like the better runner.

Because he stinks?

Back-up running backs that get to play behind All-Pros (which is what Rice used to be) often have inflated numbers.

Maybe Rice was just hurt this season. But if you look at the historical trend a running back that falls off after 4 1000 yard seasons will generally NEVER get it back again. And injured running backs rarely come back the same. Unless that injured RB is Adrian Peterson -- And he's so full of HGH his head glows in the dark.

Stay with me...R-a-y- -R-i-c-e w-a-s- i-n-j-u-r-e-d- the fact that he was lame in the open field is very true and explainable.

I dont think we need a rb. We have BP and RR and if we had an offensive line worth a shit BP would have rushed for 1,000 yds this year. I havent lost any faith in RR no more then if our cb Lad. Webb was injured last year came back this year and did well. I think he is fine he's young and has carried less in his career then most rb's.

I am open minded...we couldnt run or pass this year and our OL was the main factor. Flacco being sacked 48 times and two very good backs falling off a map in production were caused by our OL. I am not saying Flacco made all the best reads bc I am not just that when you are on your back 3-5 times a game and being chased most passing downs with no pocket it is a big factor.

Ill leave it at "we shall see"... I am not a Ray Rice homer in fact I like a bigger back that can push a pile and hurt people; that is not Ray Rice.

Say it with me now... I-T D-O-E-S-N-T M-A-T-T-E-R!

If he was truly that injured, then that is a poor job by the Ravens for running him out there (no pun intended) every game. He looked terrible, and not just because of the OL.

There is a big, big difference between drawing a comparison between a younger CB and an older RB (in terms of usage, and RB years). It's not even close.

But, to be honest...I hope that the Ravens bank on Rice, and I'm right...it would be another wasted year on offense with no running game.

Flacco also threw 50% of his INT's with 0 pressure, per PFF, so a better line doesn't mean better results for Joe cool next year, either.

I didnt say Flacco had a good year he had a bad one. But he also was extremely under duress. I think you are completely wrong about Rice and I would still take him over an underperforming / choking Gio Bernardo.... A better offensive line means alot to Flacco as he is a stand in the pocket passer...If Dalton was pressured as much as Flacco was this year he would have throw 100 int's...he threw 4 against us in week 17 and wasnt pressured at all while Flacco was sacked twice and harrassed all day.

You cant convince me a better OL wouldnt improve both Flacco and Ray Rice dramatically.
