OTT receives conditional 7th round pick for Kovalev. If PIT wins 1st round of playoffs and Kovalev plays 50 per cent of games, it's a 6th.

I named my dog Kovy because he was my favorite player...

...and then he was traded.

Eww... Does he take all your money and then shit all over your carpet?

What a shocker.

I thought that's where he would end up all along although I was hoping it would be for a 4th or 5th round pick.

Not really but I was hoping. :D

His contract and the fact that the Sens didn't take any money back takes his value down exponentially.

I was thinking they wouldn't move him for anything less than a 6th rounder,... so if the Pens manage to hold on over their last 20 games and make it in anything can happen. At which point the Sens could end up with a 6th round out of the deal if they pull out a series win.

Through all of these injuries, it's amazing to me the Pens have held on to where they are in the standings. If, and this is a very BIG IF... Crosby comes back this season, he's going to have some firepower around him.

I think that's why it took so long to deal him. Murray wanted to get more for Kovy but teams didn't want to pay it and I don't think there was that much interest in him either. I suspect Mario had a big impact in gettng Kovy back in Pittsburgh btw.

If Crosby comes back then the Pens will be a pretty strong team. Does it maybe open the door for a Malkin trade if the Pens manage to do well without him? Because the Pens are going to have to shed salary one way or another this summer.
