At what cost? The point is Konopka wouldn't cost much and he is an impact player. I don't want one player that is going to cost us the roster to bring in.

Plus konopka can take faceoffs....IMO more valuable than what Shelley brings as he can fight too! In essence you'd be saving 300 K.

It would have been nice to have Simmonds, Talbot, Konopka, and possibly either Rinaldo or Sestito on your game time roster. I'm sure they Flyers think they have enough "team toughness" but his ability on the face-offs is what I see as being so valuable. He fits the Lappy mold and for the money he recieved(which I think is not enough seeing his effort and blue collar mentality) he would have fit in perfectly on this team and made us that much harder to play against.

Yup but the fucking brass is still hard up On Stamkos it's sickening. I can really this offseason coming back to bite us somehow. Forget this high priced bastard because TB will own half of our roster if they decide to trade him to us. I'm over Stamkos already. No reason to let some good talent sign elsewhere while we play the waiting game. Just my two cents.

i would've liked to add konopka too. but he's not a difference maker. him signing elsewhere doesn't hurt the flyers IMO.

if they were missing out on difference makers (i.e. top 6 forwards, top 4 d-men) i'd agree with you, but there isn't anything going on that they're missing

a team with betts, hartnell, nodl, talbot, and shelley has plenty of role-players like konopka

i think we forget sometimes that just waiving shelley is not a option that the FO likes. only on last resort measures. it does actually cost the team quite a bit of money to do it.

Shame that we missed out on this...BUT....with Simmonds still unsigned and other question marks still hanging over the wings...passing on him is not a surprise.

I would have signed him. But that is me. I do understand not going after him with the other issues still to be resolved.

I would have enjoyed seeing Konpka kick the living piss out of Patrick Kaleta when the Flyers play the Sabres. They would be a joy to see. Konopka does not take any shit from these cowards who attempt to injure ( Avery, Kaleta).
