Again you guys seemed confused. Kobe was not a leader so it did not matter what he thought Shaq should or should not do. He didn't have the influence necessary to convince Shaq to see it his way. He was the second option and not in a position to command anything of Shaq. Its a glaring example of his lack of a likeable personality and leadership skills.

Thats a frequently quoted misconception. Yes leaders lead by example but there is way more to it. You cant be effective if all you do is set an example. You have to give your teammates/followers the inspiration to do their best. They have to like you or really respect you for you to have influence. I believe the same about Magic!! This is an area where I feel Lebron doesn't really get the credit that he deserves and why I believe that his game mirrors Magic much moreso than MJ.

If Lebron wanted to, he could probably average close to 40 points per game. However, the Heat would be unlikely to win any more titles. Gotta give him credit for that!!

I think inspite of being a dickhead concerning the game, Jordan probably got a pass because personally his teammates liked and respected him. Jordan never came off to me as a spoiled brat teenager only concerned with what was best for him. I think being aloof and an arrogant dickhead when younger hurt Kobe even after he started becoming more of a leader.
