GREAT JOB Botslayer.

This is the type of data that us basketball junkie devour.

I hate the clingers to the past guys who cite the raw statistics (completely ignoring the era).

It looks to me like today's players would be just fine.

I always hate the insanely gaudy "era inflated" numbers.

I see tons of guys get 19-25/game rebounds and know it would be impossible for those limited athletes to get that many in todays game.

The modern players match up quite well if not better than their historical counteparts.

Very nice piece Bot!

The 60s had even greater players that couldn't win because of Bill. Wilt, Baylor, West, Oscar, all kept at bay because of Russell. The 62 season had Wilt average 50 and 26, Oscar a triple double, yet it was Russell who won the MVP and the title.

To this, I would say that it was not Bill Russell who prevented all those great players from getting rings, it was the Celtics. Russell was the greatest on a hall of fame cast, but far from the only player that made those teams great.
