If you want to really dig into the Knick debacle…

Find the truth behind van gundy leaving unexpectedly during the ‘01- ‘02 season, 19 games in on a winning streak .

Not a word was said , me personally , I believe he was stressed.

He then went on to sign as HC of the Rockets in ‘ 03.

Since his departure, the Knicks have spiraled into an abyss.
Or you can ask van gundy

Shocker: it was ownership

No way to respond to this anymore..

I gave it my best.

Dolan , doesn’t know shit about the game. He doesn’t have to. He invested in a team.

Investment , long term or short term. If you ain’t a day trader , you hold for 10 years to reap the rewards of a company. Dolan took Thomas out of his position in 5.

A Billionaire who could buy anything he wants except an f n pampered NBA player who can’t handle the pressures of accountability in every form.

UNCLE
Oh, as an investment he’s killing it. It’s a money making machine.
And if he could just buy players, sure the Knicks would be the Celtics of the 60s. But the NBA has a salary cap. It takes some knowledge to build a winner in the NBA, which clearly Dolan doesn’t have himself nor have the people he has hired.

Ok, the vainglorious buffoon did some research…

Don’t normally do this cause I go from what little I see and from the gut.

Dolan purchased the Knicks in ‘95

They were a dam good team under his ownership for the next 6 years…

Then, Dolan decided to give the wrong people for the right reasons a chance.

It has not panned out!

If he decides to revert back to when he first took over , we have a chance.

If he continues to hire people cause he has a bleeding heart. SELL

Also , WTF , the Dolan family also owns the Cleveland Gaurdians.. who have had no luck as well.

The Dolans make a ton of money , but seem to be very unlucky with teams they own.

Well, your research is only partially right. He was named CEO of Daddy’s cable company in ‘95, but the company didn’t get control of the Knicks until a merger/purchase in ‘97 and Then James Dolan east CEO of MSG until ‘99. So he hasn’t run the Knicks since ‘95 but only since ‘99. So, there weren’t even the good early years under his guidance.

I get it, he’s a terrible owner. Best thing for us fans is for him to sell. I knew this long ago.

Still, no excuse for all the GM’s hired, that they just could not find the right players to execute all the coaches that were brought in for the last 20 years plans.

Big names that failed him.

I understand it was Dolan who brought them all in, and that he is 100% responsible.

Dolan getting superstar NHL players to play for him, one after the other to win a cup.

Zibanashad Panerin Truoba Tarasenko. Now Patrick Kane signs with Dolans rangers , best top 6 players in league on paper.

How much More proof do you need to see that the pampered superstars of the NBA won’t play here, not because of Dolan, but because they don’t want the pressures of playing In the biggest market of all , the sole reason why!

Dude.

There is no comparison between NHL and NBA.

None.

Just because the Rangers are well managed, that has no bearing on the Knicks.

Dolan pays to have the best of the best regardless the sport.

It ain’t Dolans fault that the NBA became Hollywood.

Is that why the best teams in the league are in Milwaukee, Denver, Memphis and Boston? Very glamorous lol.

You’re giving credit to the rangers mgmt..

Who hired mgmt?

Irrelevant.

Ted Leonsis is a good NHL owner, but a bad NBA owner.

Takes more than willingness to spend to build a positive organizational culture in the NBA.

You have to stop… these billionaires rely on people in the business to advise..

Dolans biggest mistake was hiring Isaiah !

He probably idolized Isiah. Most did!

Other than that, I’ll stick to my opinion that there just isn’t enough good minds to go around in the NBA . Ain’t like Dolan hasn’t tried to bring in the right personnel.

Tried and failed.

There are plenty of good minds.

He just can’t find them because he doesn’t know where to look.

And then he picks petty public squabbles with former Knick standouts like Charles Oakley.

Dolan is disliked in basketball circles and for good reason. Top Players are absolutely less likely to sign there because of his rep.

Rangers have Drury, and Dolan has 100% faith in him to do whatever it takes to win the cup.. and he’s doing one helluva job.

I honestly don’t even know who the Knicks GM is cause they don’t make any moves ..

How is that on Dolan?

You think he spends more time on the Knicks and not on the rangers ?

Knick GM doesn’t know how to clear cap space to bring in a player?

Yep, I hear that !

But oak?

You don’t think oak crossed the line somewhere for Dolan to react?

Dolan's ego couldn't take the criticism. You just can't disrespect a team legend like that without fallout.
