Interim coaches worry me. Freddie Kitchens bombed out in Cleveland and Antonio Pierce isn't looking so hot in Vegas. Those were similar moves to Brown where the HC was canned and they stepped in and provided some immediate stability. Jeff Saturday was a mess in Indy. Singletary in SF.

Not that there haven't been good ones. Art Shell, Marv Levy, and Jeff Fisher come to mind.

But I'm cautious with Brown even if the immediate returns are good.

The next coaching hire in Chicago has to be a good one or Caleb could be ruined....

And KK doesn't even have to be the long term answer.....if he came in and coached Caleb like he did with Murray his first 4 seasons that would be fine....it included an 11 win season and a playoff appearance.

If history is any indication, we will drop the ball on the Thomas Brown situation, somehow.

Either...

A) Brown wins a few games, Caleb looks good in the process, and we jump the shark - keeping him. This time next year, we're 4-8 cursing his name.

B) We don't keep Brown and he shoves it up our ass. Becomes a winning HC elsewhere while we continue in our pit of misery.
So what you're saying is we are in a lose/lose situation.....part of being a Bear fan I guess.

Im not sure its Pierce tho.....the Raiders qb situation is a carousel of qbs.....O'Connell/Minshew/ Ridder......Brock Bowers( roy imo) is playing out if his mind and Jacobi Meyers who was a nobody in NE,Peirce has gotten the most out them.......
They get the qb right, they may have something.....

Undisciplined team that has been plagued by some horrible in game decisions as well.

Running the Pistol offense when KC has always been more of a classic WC QB.

SMH.

Cousins started out running the Pistol at the beginning of his career so it’s not exactly foreign to him. And outside of where the QB stands to begin the play….not really all that much different than a classic west coast offense.

You have some good points with the QB comment but AOC is healthy now and we shall see what he has down the stretch.....he played well last week....

IMO, the big gaffe was letting JJ walk as a FA....I understood it at the time, but looking back they could have brought him back....Zeus has failed and Mattison is more of a PT RB while JJ has crushed it this season....if we had JJ he would have been worth a few more wins IMO.....

The OL needs some tweaking, it seems to have regressed a little this season, mainly the runblocking. It was much better last season.

AP did a great job when he took over last season. But, AP lost me this season when he pissed off Adams in the social media post by liking it.

You just don't do that. Bill GOAT, Vrabel, and Pete Carroll wouldn't have. Basically all the old school coaches....

At the beginning of his career.....it has been a while since that. The coaching has to put him in a position to succeed.....

Also, year 1 coming back from an Achilles is tough.....year 2 should be better since the Achilles is a bad injury. KC and Rodgers both could be better next season.

So what you're saying is we are in a lose/lose situation.....part of being a Bear fan I guess.
What's that line in the movie Interstellar? When McConaughey and Matt Damon are fighting on that alien planet. Banging their astronaut face shields against each other?

McConaughey: "Stop!!! There's a 50/50 chance you'll kill us both!!!"

Matt Damon: "Those are the best odds I've had in years!"

That's what it's like being a Bears fan. "You're saying there's a chance it doesn't blow up into a million pieces!? We've hit the lottery! What an amazing opportunity!"

Typically, it's just "choose your death":

Door A) Blocked GW Kick as time expires
Door B) Hail Mary as time expires
Door C) Clock management gaffe as time expires
Door D) Turn the game off and shoot yourself in the face with a flare gun (sometimes I think about choosing this - it would feel better than the former options)

This much is certain, his pressers have been a blast of fresh air. As much as Eberflus sucked as a coach, listening to his pressers hurt my soul. Brown speaks with intention and purpose. I like his overall stature and demeanor. He just has something about him that screams leader of men. Whether or not that translates,, I don't know, but I am excited to see what he does with this opportunity. I think it starts today with a good win over SF.

Okay...so it should be clear what the offseason plan is now. Entirely new coaching staff.

Okay...so it should be clear what the offseason plan is now. Entirely new coaching staff.

And GM...and Team President...and Owners.

To hell with all of them.

The last one is least likely, obviously, but I'm so done with Warren and Poles at this point. The former is all talk and the latter is f*cking so clueless on some things it can't go unnoticed. Poles is on record saying "You guys are wrong about Matt" regarding Eberflus. How stupid he looks now. He was laughing at the Falcons when the cameras were on about their Penix pick. LOL The Falcons are going to win more games this year than Ryan Poles ever has as GM. Ryan, you can start laughing when your f*cking team isn't one of the worst in football. Period. Much less all the "take the North and never give it back" ridicule that we've experienced over the past few years. Foot in mouth disease with no actual action to back it up. We could go on and on about the statistical futility we've experienced during his GM reign. I would like to see his ass Fresh Prince'd out the f*cking door at this point.

We could also go on for days about the McCaskeys. There's literally not a single Bear-backing soul that would regret them moving on and selling. Not fans, not former and current players and coaches, not ANYONE that remotely follows this team. Just go already. But no...We would not be that lucky.

Poles will be gone in offseason 2025 unless our new coaching staff is unbelievably good. McCaskeys will be a disease for us for years to come. That's all I'm really certain of at this point. *shrugs* Who knows about Warren?

So yeah...New coaches then. What about that? Oh right...It is highly probable, almost 100% imo, that we will have the worst coaching staff in the North again on opening day next season, and continue to maintain a competitive disadvantage in that department. Yay for us.

Is Trace Armstrong his agent because that would seal the deal.
