GS also doesn't want Kevin Martin as part of a possible deal.

"The Warriors have zero desire to take back expensive, no-defense shooting guard Kevin Martin in the deal"

He's scheduled to make close to 21mil over the next 3yrs.

Martin would be a valuable shooter and would help space the floor for Curry and Love. The perimeter defense we lose with Thompson can be replaced with Iggy, Barnes and Green. Arizona Sting is right. We would the Warriors would be idiots not to get this deal done.

This is where we disagree.

It's brilliant. They KNOW that's the piece Minny wants. So far as we know, they have the best offer on the table without him. Minny only has so much time to decide......they can pull this off WITHOUT offering up Thompson.

Now say someone comes in with a better offer......THEN they can sweeten the pot with Thompson. WHY would they play all their cards upfront?

I think if you believe not offering everything upfront makes them morons, you don't understand negotiations at a very basic level. Get all you can for as LITTLE as you have to sacrifice.

Waittt did you just say we aren't offering up Klay? Do you have some inside sources?

Since when is averaging $7 mil a season in the NBA called expensive? Especially when that guy averages 19 ppg & more than doubles that of a guy(Iggy) already on the team that will average making $4 mil more than him.

If Martin really is part of the holdup in the deal, GS management is certifiably insane.

Yeah, $7mil a season doesn't seem all that expensive to me either.

Iggy>>> Martin but the reason could be, it would hamstring them from doing other potential moves

Also those who are comparing iggy to martin. Iggy>>> martin

What are you using justify this claim? Is he the better defender & athlete? Yes. But Martin is the far better scorer & offensive player. Martin has the better career PER & has been better than Iggy in PER over the last 2 seasons. While Martin will continue to be a scorer as he ages, Iggy's athleticism, which is his best attribute, will start declining. Iggy has steadily declined in each of the last 4 seasons while Martin has continued to get buckets.

I just don't see what makes people think Iggy is better than Martin. They both do different things well & Martin is $4 mil cheaper than Iggy.

Everything reported says as of right now they aren't offering up Klay.....I'm saying they SHOULDN'T until they absolutely know they can't get the deal done without him.

Basic negotiations. Never start with your best offer.

MArtin is bad on defense lol Iggy is one the best defenders. iggy has a higher IQ on offense than martin, martin is a better shooter and at getting to the line yes but from the numbers ive seen hes decent offensively and is a huge liability on defense. He works best as a 7th man IMO. iggy is also a better passer, rebounder, finisher, defense, IQ, hes better at a lot of things

7th man LOL. Martin is a starting SG for most teams in the NBA. He has averages between 19--23 ppg in this league except for his injury season & the only time he didn't start, which was the one season he played with Durant. Averaging 19 ppg is decent offensively? What does that make Iggy & his 9 ppg, an offensive liability? Like I said previously, Martin is the better offensive player & Iggy is the better defensive player. Seeing as they play different positions, Iggy's rebounding advantage is really nominal & is nothing to write home about. They both have about the same value. Just look at their PER to affirm that. Martin is above league average while Iggy is below league average in PER.

Martin may be bad on defense but he is far superior than Iggy on offense. It is really a matter of what you want to do as a team.

Martin is a decent offensive player but huge liability on defense which kills his value why do you think Minnesota is trying to dump him for nothing? He knows how to score but only in his way. He's a 6th man at best. He's a terrible fit with curry just like monta was. Iggy is a wayyyy better player overall in terms of team impact. Under a real offense and a healing hamstring he should be scoring 13-15 again. Warriors do not want martin for a reason

I think in the end we will see this trade. Might be little tweak in it.

Pretty impressed on how good of a shooter he has become. He really is looking worth every bit that contract. I didnt so much believe in him as opposed to ellis, but hes really good. Consistency is the mark of talent, so we shall see.

Remember I said lakers should pull trigger on Thompson for #7 pick that became Julius randle. Most laker fans said no way. Not looking so bad now. Even before injury he didn't strike me as someone who was going to impact the game or challenge for rookie of year
