That's the thing, when Carter is on, he is ON. The mantra can be applied to both players. I just don't understand how you can LOVE one guy, defending him mercilessly, while hating the other. They are both solid two-way forwards. Sure Richards brings more grit, but Carter brings more scoring.

And I didn't mean you specifically, SF. :p

I know, I just think more was expected of Carter cause that's what he is a pure scorer. Richie fills a different role so he's not put out there to dry like Carter. I agree though, they both don't deserve a pass and Carter has come pretty far in the last 2 years as a complete player.

Gags...i think the problem most people have is you know richards even if he doesnt produce...gives a 110% but with carter...really i was at a lot of games... and if he steps up and throw a check he breaks up a play instead he is in the box...like you said...if he ever stepped up and play game in and out...richards... does...maybe with this contract he will play both ends...but with all do respect as superflyer says i havent seen it yet...

See, I don't agree with that statement. Richards was late to camp this offseason, and when he showed up, he wasn't in shape. Carter on the other hand, arrived early.

Richards looked sluggish, and disinterested for much of the first few weeks.

My dad and brother are at this game. I wonder if they brought a hat. I remember a few years ago I brought a hat just in case of a hat trick, and sure enough Knuble scored all 3 goals in a 3-0 win over Anaheim. Knuble got #5 on SC's top plays and my hat got a close up.
