Gages...i like carter but you have to admit he can be frustrating...you just have to accept...the ups and downs...the problem i have is the downs in the playoffs...way to often...show me the money...show me it in the playoffs...like i said in the past he will score 40...just when you need them...

Oh, I completely agree. If he could play to his full abilities EVERY night, he would be on an elite level.
The thing that bothers me is...Richards is just as inconsistent. Yet, he constantly gets a pass from this fanbase. Don't get me wrong, I love Mike Richards. But he looks lazy and uninterested at times - the same trait people knock Carter for.
People say, "well Richards is a defensive star." While that may be true, Carter is a very responsible two-way forward.
I just don't get it.

I agree to a point, but it seems Richards is always a late bloomer in the season. But when he's on he's on.. Would like to see these kids knuckle down and play to their abilities every night. Hope they do it in the post season.

That's the thing, when Carter is on, he is ON. The mantra can be applied to both players. I just don't understand how you can LOVE one guy, defending him mercilessly, while hating the other. They are both solid two-way forwards. Sure Richards brings more grit, but Carter brings more scoring.
And I didn't mean you specifically, SF. :p
