Staying focused on this game, there's one early key that we all will be able to identify in this one... enthusiasm/energy!! Right now, Philly has been playing with it on all three aspects of the game and if we're honest Washington hasn't been attacking defenses nor running to the ball defensively as they were earlier in the season. That energy has propelled the Eagles to one of the best teams in the league, they have it, the Commanders must take it away from them and recapture what propelled them into the talk of the league earlier.

ESPN’s Marc Raimondi writes “the chances [Kirk Cousins] returns to the Falcons as a backup seem slim.”
Because of how Cousins’ contract is structured, he’ll get a say in his future. The Falcons are taking either a $65 million cap hit in 2025 or $40 million in 2025 and $20 million in 2026 as part of post-June 1 release if they so choose. They can save cap space by trading Cousins — depending on how much of his guaranteed salary they’d have to eat to move him — but Cousins also has a no-trade clause. It’s hard to imagine a huge market for Cousins given his rough finish to the season, but perhaps a desperate team can be sold on him being another year removed from his Achilles injury and hope he rebounds physically.

I just read a good article on The Athletic. Broke down all the QB scenarios. There is talk that Stafford may retire and that's where Kirk could end up.

Penix concerns me. I was one of the few who didn't trash the Falcons for making this selection, and I was a big Kirk guy. But this is such a critical positoin and if Penix pans out who will be laughing then?

No I'd much rather face a broken down Kirk Cousins than a rookie with this much potential. He's played a ton of games, he won't be another Jake Haener.

I couldn't decide if I wanted to face Penix or Kirk. I just want to beat Philly, so I don't have to watch that game with my heart in my throat for three hours.

Yeah, Penix concerns me as well. Truth be told. I thought he was the college QB with the most potential to become a top tier NFL QB.

Why do you have to beat the Falcons with him at QB? I mean don't get me wrong. The Skins beating the Falcons is the outcome I'm most hopeful for. He's a an X factor right now though and when I think of games the Skins had to win or maybe should've won is more on point. Its the game against the Cowboy game where the Skins most put themselves behind the proverbial 8 ball.

Do the Skins have to beat Philly or would losing to them be acceptable or expected even? And for all the talk of the Skins being improved, and from an offensive standpoint I'd say that's accurate. The Skins have yet to beat a team with a winning record. Chi was 4-2 when they played DC, but have since spiraled. Right now this team reminds me most of the 2015 Skins. They didn't beat a team with a winning record that year. They also lost the first game to a Cowboys team they should've beat.
