I think there are places where Kirk can still be effective. San Francisco for example will have to make a decision on Purdy fairly soon ( he has one year left on his original contract) and that price tag could be anywhere between 45M to 60+M per year. Would they take a chance on Cousins? Who knows, but the fit works there with KS.

I'm I'm Kirk im trying to find a way to SF. If I'm Shanahan, I'm using Kirk as leverage in the Purdy negotiations. I did hear a little Rams/McVay smoke this morning. Not reputable enough to post.

It's an almost perfect fit.

One of the things that is often mentioned with Cousins (his agent) was his ability to maximize a contract. Players should get what they can but it can come back to bite you on the ass.

If I were Cousins I would look to get out of Atlanta and try and find a job with Shanahan, McVay or someone from their trees.

KC may be done at this point we'll see. Where would you rank him as QB in the organization all time? My premise for ranking him where I did was simply because he didn't win a super bowl or a meaningful game really. The list is short because there just weren't many Redskin greats at the position.

1. Joe Theismann (Back-to-back SB, League MVP, consistent winner)
2. Sonny Jurgenson
3. Sammy Baugh
4. Mark Rypien (Super Bowl MVP; Possibly the greatest Redskin Team ever)
5. Doug Williams (Super Bowl MVP)
6. Kirk Cousins

Joe would likely tell you that as well, but he is #1 on my list. Joe gave you all he had every week at a high level. Won a SB, went right back to a SB and won league MVP honors. For 12 seasons and mostly every season he started at QB, he gave his team a chance to win. Baugh played 16 seasons but in a different era than Joe. Sonny had arm talent but only won a championship as a backup QB with the Eagles.
Joe gets my nod as a Redskin.
