Does anybody else think Borland at 34 is way too high? Kiper loves this guy. I got my info from the on the clock show last night on espn.

I think it is a bit high, not sure he would be there in the 3rd though if we waited. Both he and McShay agreed he was one of the best "true" football players in the entire draft. That's wrt intelligence, instincts at that position, technique, knowledge of the game, etc. He may not be the next Kuechly, but looks to be a solid player. I wouldn't break the TV with that pick.

I like Borland... but as GK stated, 34 is a tad bit high to be drafting him. If we could trade back say 10-15 spots and pick up an extra pick, Im all for it. But something tells me thy will likely go OT with this pick come hell or high water.

I think everyone can agree its too high. But I will say that he wont be available when we pick in the 3rd round.

As I said, if he is the guy we should trade back and take him later in the second.

But with the shear desperation everyone seems to have for O-line at the moment... i dont think they will do anything other than take an O-lineman at 34.

Dean dont get me wrong, I could see some very talented alternatives to O-line being there at 34. And if O-line wasnt the popular pick for what went wrong last year, I could see the team going in the direction of talent over positional need with a few players. But I do think that group think will prevail here. And for months we have been hearing that the biggest need is O-line and thats the only way the Skins can and should go.

I think this is one of those cases where perception becomes reality. The fact that about 75% of the players that have visited have been O-lineman also tells me we are leaning that way come hell or high water as well. So unless an extremely exceptional player is some how there at 34 that doesnt play OT, I think they go all in on OT or trade the pick and still take an OT in the spot we traded back to.

i think shark is right and well as others . at 34 it might be a little too high , however if you followed it up with a flemming at OT is that way out of whack ?

i think borland is a trade back scenario guy like shark thinks

i havent had a position on this but i am thinking trading back is our best move

Yes oline is a popular pick but we can get one in the 3rd round. I think Attachou will be very tough to pass on with Flemming in the 3rd. With the Attachou pick we would have the best pass rushers in the division.

Maybe. But I think you have to look at OLB in the same light as WR to a degree. Are we really going to take a 3rd/4th OLB. I mean unless they really dont think they can keep both Rak and Kerrigan. If they think we can keep them both, a high pick on a OLB is kind of hard.

Its identical to WR. The reason why you take one is that its very realistic that either Rak or Kerrigan will not be her in 2 years. You get their replacement now and groom them.

Of course they cant keep both Rak and Kerrigan. That is why OLB is in play at 34. That is why attachou, Lawerance, and Smith have been brought in for visits. Plus doesn't a pass rusher trump a WR? You cant count on Jackson and the jury is still out on Jenkins.

Adding Attachou will give us the best pas rushers in the division. A very nice thing to have. We already have the best WR core. This is why I am so convinced that we will have a winning season this year.

How is it identical to WR jy19? Our top 3 Wr will all be here for the next three years. Rak or Kerrigan wont.

Any time you start drafting based on guys NOT being there, you have already lost in my opinion. IF we draft an OLB, you really think RAK is going give his all and risk getting hurt if the team basically drafts his replacement?? More to the point, would you go above and beyond at your job if they brought in a new guy and said basically this is your replacement next year??

Rak has to go above and beyond this year b/c he will become a UFA if the Skins don't sign him to a long term deal. Even if he does have a 13-15 sack season he can go elsewhere for 10-12 mil a season and we will still have Attachou. The pick makes sense if Rak does bad or good this year. RAK is still playing for a big pay day either here or somewhere else.

Disagree. If we draft an OLB and Rak goes out and has another 10 sack season, you dont think some one is going to pay him?? It wont be us at that point. But then again I think Rak is gone no matter what at this point because around 80% of the guys who play under the tag end up going to new teams the next year.

If they draft Attachou, its a clear sign they dont plan to try and keep Rak no matter how well he does. And in light of that, why would he go above and beyond and risk injury knowing he is not protected in any way shape or form beyond this season. Guys on the tag rarely risk playing hurt for fear that they make a two week injury worse.

Maybe this is a dumb question But why can't we resign Rak sometime during this season or next off season and tag Kerigan like they did Rak and resign him later. I'm not good with the inner workings of the teams like some of you guys are ,I'm just wondering why some are saying we can't keep both ?
