She was good, but she wasn’t GT good.

I was ok with it. I think she got it because she is a young female. And this show doesn’t get too many good females especially not young ones. Also of course working with the crew means she will be around more often.

It might of even been rigged where the crew knew she was good and wanted her to get on air.

And if it wasn’t for glassman she would have had a funny interview too.

I can’t disagree. There were only 2 female GT winners before her, and one of them really wasn’t a GT winner while the other one is no longer in comedy. He needed a female GT winner on the roster.

And OMG…

How fucking bad was Glassman?

There have been silent guests who were pointless. There were blowups. But only one other guest actually made the job actually a job for Tony, and Glassman just joined that group.

Danny Brown and Rick Glassman, imho, are the worst guests ever.

For the most part I thought he was ok. Definitely too much. But thought some things were funny. And that’s really all I care about. He actually reminded me of a friend I grew up with. How he never shut up and got weird often.

But he did ruin some interviews not just the girl. He was probably most annoying during her interview though. But she got her golden ticket so good for her.

Also he acted like a total bitch with Kam and the basketball. That was maybe the cringiest part of last nights episode.

I guess this shows how entertainment is subjective. I really liked the episode. No problem at all with the Glassman dude. He may have sidetracked some interviews but it led to a lot more different comics and there were some good ones. I mean, what did we really miss? Tony taking an excruciatingly long time to find out about some 24 year old's last date? Finding out some tool thinks he can rap? Tony trying to shoehorn some anti-vax take or making someone declare that Canada or wherever they are from sucks and Austin is the nexus of the universe?
And even though Tony seemed annoyed at times by Glassman he also seemed to be having fun with it.

Yea for the most part he wasn’t bad. He actually made me laugh more than not.

I got annoyed with him during kam’s interview. How he bitched out of the basketball game. He didn’t have to face him. Just don’t make yourself look like a bitch.

He kind of bitched out during montgomery’s interview too.

But he was most annoying during the golden ticket girl interview.

But those really were the only 3 times I was annoyed by him. The rest he was pretty funny.

ehh, I didn't really take the basketball thing serious. It seemed like at the end Glassman might have gotten the idea that he should dial it back some so he didn't say much. It sort of reminded me of Jeremiah with the old band. Some days Tony was genuinely annoyed and other days he played along. To me it seemed like Tony was having fun with Glassman. I think at the beginning he even said something about it. Like he knew he would be kind of a wild card of a guest.

I’m not saying I believed that there would ever be a game. But he bitched out.

I do agree that Tony enjoyed it. And allowed it. And yes. Tony warned everyone at the beginning of the show about him.

Again. I kind of liked him. I just had those 3 interviews where he was too much for me.

I just discovered listening to Michael Lehrer at 1.5 speed. Fucking brilliant. Not sure why it took me this long.

Do you not see how dangerous that is?

:drum:
Seriously though, of all the guys on Kill Tony with their various disabilities and ailments I think if you could magically cure the physical ailments of Martin Phillips he could be a top level comedian. His writing is usually very good and I like that well over half of his jokes do not revolve around his condition.

I'd say that goes double for Michael Lehrer. If they had somehow miraculously cured ALS, imagine what he could do in stand up. I recently discovered watching him on youtube at 1.25 or 1.5 speed and it is amazing. His writing is top shelf.

Michael was very successful and well known in the Chicago comedy scene before he got sick. He was not “discovered” by Tony. Tony just gave him a landing spot to spend his final years.

Yeah but I think he was in his first year or two of stand up. If he had more time to do that I think he would have been big. Regardless of how big he was in Chicago, I don't think someone like me would have ever known who he was until he did stand up.

I am not sure of that. By almost all reports, he was a fucking prick. I think that was probably his anchor keeping him from HUGE success pre-ALS. The ALS just made people forgive his asshole-ness.
