After watching Boise beat Utah St. last night, mainly on pure grit, I think that the key to the team is not Marks, Drimic, or any of the long range shooters, it's the guy in the middle, Ryan Watkins. The man pulled down 10, yes ten offensive rebounds last night. He ended up with 15 points, all hard earned put backs and shots in heavy traffic. And 16 total rebounds, playing against a trio of Aggies who were taller and outweighed him. At 6'9" he routinely goes against those bigger men, and out hustles them. I've never seen a guy so possessed to clean the boards since Rodman in his prime. Let's hope that Ryan stays out of piercing studios, tattoo parlors and North Korea.

Boise plays a 4 guard offense, but without a rock in the middle, they would be mediocre. Here's to rebounding, the forgotten skill.

:agree: well said the guy is a beast when it comes to the boards.

Love the kid. Max out effort every night and who knows where we'd be without him. So important to the team's success.

16 points, 13 boards vs. Air Force. Watkins on the way to MVP. Get that guy a hard hat.

How do you think they do at the Thomas & Mack tomorrow? UNLV has been terrible at home, and i think Boise is a solid squad.

On the pickems, I went with UNLV. But have to say, I'm not very comfortable about that pick.

If Boise starts dropping 3's its going to be ugly. UNLV has been playing better lately, but i dont trust them at home. Its so asbackwards.

BSU is going to be a tough team the rest of the season if they keep playing the way they are. But three road games are going to be tough. Wish them the best .

Believe me, i'm a huge Bronco fan. But they really choked against UNLV last night.. Two double digit leads and end up losing.

I know the we had a couple that fouled out and one that went out with a lower back injury, but it was sickening how bad they played the last 5 minutes of the game

I watched that whole game and thought the Rebels were dead in the water. You are right about blowing two leads. I'll take the win, but i aint proud or crowing about it. I do think if the Rebels had played the defense they did for the last 6 minutes or so, for the whole game, they could have won easily and may have had a substantial lead at the half.
I told you guys they play like shit at home, and simply got lucky at the end.

Can't finish a damn game. Enough with Marks taking every single big shot down the stretch. He hasn't made any of them. Give the effing ball to Drmic our best player in those situations. What a choke job by Boise...........again.

It would seem both our teams will be out of the big dance. I feel bad for Boise. They play hard and just let things slip through their fingers. Last night, they got too conservative, and should have kept pressing before it got close. Tough lose guys.

Boise still had one time out left. don't know why the didn't use it.

That's two games in a row that BSU had double digit leads and let them go.

Can't imagine BSU being better next year after losing 3 or 4 starters. They are going to have to do some super recruiting.
