Kershaw will miss his next scheduled start Sunday due to a inflamed back muscle . Man, if this thing flares up it could throw a monkey wrench into the Dodgers plans this year.

Here's the thing about the dogs this year; unlike their division rivals, their room for error is much greater. They have Grenkie as a co-ace, and about 7 other guys who could start. But hey, none of them are Kershaw and a nagging injury to crush their spirits wouldn't be the worst thing for the rest of the division.

Update on Kershaw

Kershaw was put on the 15 Day DL and not only miss today's start vs. Padres but he also will miss the Giants series in L.A. This injury could be a big time game changer in the West. This back problem could flare up at any time and might be a problem all year for Kershaw.

Breaking news coming out of L.A. is that Kershaw will not pitch for at least 3 more weeks as his back continues to be evaluated. He will have to also have a rehab stint in the minors before he can come back.

I like Kershaw and love watching him pitch against anyone but the Giants. Seems like a good dude.

And…I find myself feeling happy about this news.
