Yea you never know what could happen, but right now Kemp is staying put, Dodgers are more focused on booting up our bench & possibly making a run for Tanaka & extensions that need to be made for Kershaw & Hanley.

Those all may be reason to deal Kemp. That is a lot of money waiting to be spent on those guys and Kemp is a bit broken down. As a M's fan, I am not sure if I want it to happen which means it probably will. If we don't have to give a top 5 prospect and they eat a lot of the money, then it is worth the risk.

Money is not an issue for the Dodgers & the remaining figures on (29 year old) Kemp's contract are peanuts compared to the ridiculous money owed to the likes of Choo, Ellsbury, Werth, etc.

Tanaka at $17M and Kershaw reported between $30-$35M per would give even Dodgers pause in keeping Kemp. Who knows, but we should find out in the next two months if not sooner.

:wtf2:

He's owed $126 million over the next 6 years and is coming off of an injury plagued year with a .723 OPS... in what world is that "peanuts" compared to anything?

"The Mariners could package starting pitcher James Paxton, shorts stop Nick Franklin, third baseman Stefen Romero and reserve pitcher Tom Wilhelmsen to the Dodgers in exchange for Kemp and cash considerations."

how much in cash considerations?

if it's sizeable, this is not a terrible deal, though i'd rather see paxton for another year to know what's real about him.

i'd lean towards "okay" if this happened, but anything more they want, and it's a big no.

I wouldnt do that deal and hopefully Z wont. Kemp comes with a ton of risk and a 100m contract. Id give up one of franklin/ackley and one of our lower level pitching prospects. Even with that deal i think the dodgers should be throwing in a couple mil.
