Now with Rosario also in the fold we need 22 players just to field a team

This was a good signing. Another know quantity for the vet minimum. I hope his physical condition is OK but I'd have to think the Bears know it pretty well.

So far this offseason has been unremarkable, but OK. The big stories are soon to come though. This is the second most exciting part of the offseason for me. Forget training camp. The draft and the start of free agency interest me a lot more.

One more week and we see just what type of plan Emery will start to unfold. Can't wait.......the first 2 days can be pretty exhilarating........

Not a Hayden fan. Thought Frey did an outstanding job as the 3rd CB.

Me neither. He was the guy beat like a rug in the nickel more times than not in 2012. Now he is coming off the injury from last year. Lots of no big deal signings this week.

I know this is off-topic, but I didn't think it deserved a new thread.

On the Cowboys' board, they are talking about Melton's agent. Apparently he is stating that Melton would like to explore the possibility of signing with them.

Then all I can say is good riddance

I know they may want him, but I don't know how that happens. The Cowboys are the most cap-tight team in the league. If Melton wants his payday I don't see it coming from them.

If Dallas wants to pay big bucks to a guy coming off a major knee injury. Let them. Doubt he'll be the same player he once was.
I doubt Collins is the same player also.
Knee injuries just seem to screw Bears D-linemen.

Ratliff's injury wasn't a knee. He seemed to come on strong even though he's a bit older. Would rather re sign him for more than Melton at this point. Then pick up a young DT in the draft.

Hayden was probably the last guy I see get signed. Didn't like when they signed him originally . A Lovie guy . A CB who knows the Tampa 2. Who can't cover my grandma.

what team were you watching?

The starting cornerbacks for the Bears in 2012 were Tim Jennings and Charles Tillman.....the starting nickel back was DJ Moore.

Moore was benched fairly early in 2012 in favor of Hayden. I agree with little else written about him here, I'll just leave it at that.

Frey may have potential, but he didn't do shit last year, let alone play outstanding. Not one impact play in 16 games. That is far from outstanding.

Ok . Maybe outstanding is a bit overblown . But just seems the guy he was covering didn't kill us week in and week out.
How about solid?
