that would be the rams model and that would mean being a consistent superbowl contender is being sold for instant gratification

I think we would be more than a one-year wonder like the Rams. Especially with JD5. Who knows.

Actually, Rams won the Super Bowl in 2021. Horrible in 2022 but then had back-to-back playoff appearances in 2023 and 2024. With a with a playoff win in 2024. Not a bad model.

I was actually shocked at how well they rebuilt after going all in on Stafford. Really impressive.

Its a delicate dance because we soon forget the Vinny Cerrato years in which draft picks meant nothing and trades and free agency were the pipeline to roster creation.

I will say this. If we draft a WR in rounds 1-3 then likely not.
