previous keepers value = best available draft spot (1st - 4th rounds, depending on the # of hold overs)
FA's = last available draft spot, starting with the 16th round

player - 2014 draft value:

LeSean McCoy - best available
Brandon Marshall - best available
Dez Bryant - best available
Rob Gronkowski - 5th
Pierre Garcon - 7th
Giovani Bernard - 8th
Randall Cobb - lowest available
Le'Veon Bell - lowest available
Shane Vereen - lowest available

As of now, leaning McCoy, Bryant, Bernard, Cobb, freeing up my 3rd and 4th round picks to build a solid team. Been debating if Bell makes the keeper list due to the big time value.

Also worth noting - before last season I traded away Megatron and have an extra 5th round pick this year

any thoughts out there?
**no clue who is/isnt being kept by other owners, but just assume that at least the top 30-35 guys will NOT be available, even though some slip back into the FA pool every year

I would definitely keep Bell if he is 16th round or better... I would keep him over all the rest of your players, even McCoy...

Can you explain the best available better to me... I am a bit slow with this...

I'm with Milk.

Bernard - 8th
Bell - latest
Cobb - latest

...and you know what, I might just throw Vereen in there too and have the first 7 rounds open to you. I don't think it's too risky to go into the season with Bell and Bernard as your RB duo, with Vereen in the bank. Especially since it will allow you to bulk up your WR/TE/QB. If you think it's too risky, I'd take McCoy (assuming whoever you take from the "best available" group is your 1st rounder... if it can be 2nd or 3rd or 4th by choice I'd go with Dez)

Normally I would agree to keep Bernard... But if he doesn't keep McCoy, then he cant keep any of the other top guys(if I understand this system correctly)... And I would not want to keep 3 RBs even if they have good value...

I would probably keep McCoy, Bryant, Cobb and Bell... But depending on Gronks health I might do:

Bell,Gronk,Cobb,Bernard and be overly happy with that...

I think you're confused, Milk. Bernard in the 8th is not the same as McCoy in the 1st.

No, what I was saying is that if he doesn't keep McCoy he can't keep either Bryant or Marshall.

The more I think my 4 keepers would be McCoy, Bryant, Bell and gronk.

I think that is the best. Assuming there is at least one team who owns 2 legit first rounders.

Chances are it is me who is confused. But I assume that he doesn't want Bryant as a first rounder but if he doesn't keep McCoy he would be. By keeping McCoy he helps Bryant's value.

you both are kinda right and i think Milk has it with that last post.

If I keep 1 of McCoy, Dez, or Marshall, they will be my 1st round pick.
If I keep 2 of them, 1st and 2nd round pick
All 3 of them, lost 1st 3 rounds.

technically, they all have 1st round values, if you want to look at it that way.

its only a 10 team league, 9 out of 10 owners are very active, and the last one isnt a slouch, just has 2 young kids that preoccupy a lot of his time.

Standard scoring, QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1 TE, 1 FLEX rb/wr/te, K DEF
Deep benches, draft 16 rounds

Regarding McCoy

He's my 1 lock. RBs are at a super premium, usually only 2-3 decent ones in each redraft.
Might keep McCoy, Bell, Bernard, and Cobb, cinching up my 2 RBs and Flex, then I can draft best available out of WR/TE/QB with my first 4-5 picks

I personally think you are best off bell, gronk, McCoy, Bryant. Gronk is huge, especially with graham likely being kept.

Mccoy
Bell
Gronk
Cobb

take the 1st round rb, pair him with a workhorse late, 5th round for gronk is amazing, and he has gotten no receiving help in NE, so with that injury behind him expect big things, and cobb in the late rounds gets your a solid wr,

fill in the gaps with a really solid base

Even if softy gronk gets hurt(like he will) and misses games, him playing 10 games is still a top 5 TE with end of season stats... and 10 games of him plus 6(assuming you win it all) games of someone else should still add up to only being worse than Graham... and in a 10 team league, you can certainly get a decent backup TE easily...

I think the 3 musts are Gronk Bell and McCoy... In a 10 team league it is beneficial to have the best or at least one of the elite TEs

Then you have a choice between the 4 players Cobb, Bernard, Marshall and Bryant...

Since marshall and Bryant take the same draft pick you can omit whoever you like less... Most of us would agree Dez is the better choice to keep...

So it is now between Cobb, Bryant and Benard.

The best player in this group is not in question, it is clearly Bryant... The question is do you want to be handcuffed with him as a 2nd round pick?? Not taking Bryant is a gamble, but it may very well pay off, you can assume that most teams Keep at least one of their best available players... The more keepers kept around the league from the best available group the better for you... Chances are in a 10 team league, there will be a little less than 20 of them kept... Which will mean that in the second round if you draft, you can almost definitely draft either marshall or Dez anyway, if not someone better(I would be looking QB, but doubt that any elite QB is available).

The 2nd Best player in this group in a 10 team league is probably Benard, as he is a top 15 RB with upside... Taking him can not hurt you, but the question is do you really want to keep 3 RB, which is going to force you to need to draft the other positions in need earlier on... By Keeping a WR or QB, you will keep your options open earlier in the draft...

Then There is Cobb, the advantage of taking him doesn't just affect him, but also affects Bell, since they are both Lowest available guys... To have Cobb and Bell to be 2 of your last picks is huge... The problem with Cobb, is that he is not an elite WR for a 10 team league... In fact he is only an average number 2... Especially with the injury he suffered last season, and the way the aaron Rodgers and the packers spread the ball... He is actually the biggest gamble of all your potential keepers due to how much depth there is at WR in a 10 team league...

Just my 2 cents... And I am not a fan of you trading your elite QB for an extra 5th round pick... Having an elite QB is the most important thing in a small league... and there is only 3 elite QBs right now...

Do you know your draft position (or will you before you have to lock in your keepers)? I ask because there's no sense in keeping McCoy if you can get him with your first pick.

Keeping Gronk, Bernard, Bell and Cobb gives you a great start, as you save your first four picks which should be able to net you a QB, WR and a "best-player-available" approach to fill your flex.

I really think you should take advantage of the value you got out of last year's draft.
