Keeper League Help, I want to win this year!!!

This year I want to actually at least get 2nd place in my buddies ESPN league. I took over midway through the season for a member because he got kicked out for not participating and he was in dead last losing all 11 games he played. I was able to win 5 games....

I will have DeGrom that much I know.

as far as pre keeper deadline trades I don't think so but I do believe I was offered a trade but it involded me trading DeGrom

if it is only a 14 team league i think you can get some of these players back pretty easily...

eh on D'arnaud... Not that I don't like him... But he already has Shwarber... I don't want to keep 2 catchers with the amount of games they play... That's really why I asked about trading... I like both as keepers but just not together in a one catcher league...

I was debating upon this as well. I mean starting pitching is going to be very hard to find in this league but there usually is a decent amount of outfield talent out there to chose from.

of course, but why would you want to?? a catcher is lucky to play 140 games, and is lucky to even play 5 games a week... you are giving yourself a disadvantage on keeper day.. I am not against owning 2 catchers, just against keeping 2 catchers...

Good way at looking at it. and let's face it, the catching position is the least to worry about when it comes to fantasy baseball.

Both d'Arnaud and Schwarber make for great trade chips. For that alone, I would keep them both.

do they?? i am all in for preseason trade, and think if able that is the way to go... But the problem always is when you only start one you are not often looking to upgrade.... Its similar to why trading QBs and TEs are so hard in fantasy football... their values are only really at catcher since odds are you can get a more valuable DH at a different position...

perfect example of what i am saying, if you own miguel montero, are you searching to improve your catcher in season... No, you are trying to improve elsewhere first... Catcher is the last improvement an owner searches for....

well yes and no... the thing is about regular season trades, is that most owners wait to see what their team does before they make any trade... shwarber and D'arnaud are very young... young players generally start the season off a little rocky(which i am expecting from shwarber more than d'arnaud)... value changes so much so quick, you don't want your value to be at a position where owners don't like to have depth...

this i will agree with... daily leagues minimize the whole catchers don't play enough games problem...
