Yes - that is the exact metaphor. CK is still the target - the Broncos may even know what they are going to pay him - but now are dickering with the 9ers. Probably the Broncos are offering a 3 and not a 2 and since the
Bronco's 3rd rounder is - as close to a 4th rounder as you can get - they are going to have to offer another pick - closer to the 7th round or the 4th. Now that the draft compensation picks are on the table the Broncos can make a better assessment of what they want to pay.


Now I don't think - CK wants to go anywhere more than he wants to go to the Broncos either.
