Who would you rather have in a 10 year keeper league?

short term i would say keeps... but long term i would probably say russel wilson...

The way i see it, SF RBs are older and SF has much better receiving corps so for the next 2-5 years i would rather have Kaeps...

But i see keeps more of a running QB than wilson, and therefore i see him to be more likely to get hurt and not have as long of a career... Wilson is much smarter than kaeps, and is better at avoiding the big hit than kaep is...

Wilson both short term & long term. QB's that win a Super Bowl in only their 2nd season tend to become dynasty QB's.

Outside of Big Ben and Wilson, how many other QB'S have done this? And if Big Ben is the measuring stick, that's not exactly a fantasy slam dunk. In fact, that can be said for many SB winning QB's. Troy Aikmen, Eli Manning, Flacco, Dilfer, B. Johnson, Jim McMahon..none were what you'd really want as a starting fantasy QB, even though most were definitely "dynasty" QB's, one is even a HOF'er.

As to your question Foot.. from a purely fantasy perspective, I'd rather have Kaeps, both short term and long term. Assuming Pete Carrol sticks in Seattle, the Seahawks will always be built defense first, with a strong run game. I have serious doubts that Harbuagh stays in SF. For more than a year or two, if that. It's entirely possible they get a pass first offensive mind to replace him to take advantage of that cannon. And if either QB is at risk of injury due to taking any his while running, it's the much smaller Wilson, Kaeps is one big, tough hombre

Wilson is also a lot smarter than Kaepernick, intelligence goes a long ways in this game, particularly for the QB position. Also, other QB's that have done this include Tom Brady & Joe Montana. I would say Russell Wilson is in good company. But hey, according to you Kaepernick is some Godsend in fantasy football, so what does being a dynasty QB matter? Stats > championships, right?

"It's payback, Russell Wilson falling way back in the draft
Turn nothing into something, still can make that, straw into gold chump
I will spin Rumpelstiltskin in a haystack"-Eminem

No one raps about Kaepernick, not even Kaepernick.

No idea how you know the intelligence level of Wilson Keaps or Elway, but whatever.

And Elway Was a much better fantasy QB. And yes. . In fantasy football, stats are greater than championships.

If you want to debate who is the better football player, I'll give ya Wilson every time.

Kaepernick has much better receivers. Definitely Kaep.

I am very confused....

I thought you traded Wilson already? Where did Kaeps come from? Is this a different league?

I don't think one will be great and one awful. I think they'll both be very good. In a vacuum I'd seriously flip a coin. Otherwise I"d need more variables.

Treff, what makes you say Harbaugh won't be staying in SF? Seems like a nice fit to me.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders.

Here's my view of both.

Kaepernick - Has had flashes of greatness in 2012. Was mostly average in 2013. Best game (standard scoring) was 30 pts. Worst was 2.

Wilson - Steady, consistent, average. Best game (standard scoring) was 28. Worst was 9.

Summary: Both are about even. Based on 2013, the yards-per-game, fantasy scoring, and even TD's are very, very similar. Wilson IMO seems more of a "game manager" (which isn't meant as an insult). But since Kaps has had flashes of greatness, and isn't afraid to improvise, I see him with more value.

Thanks Xpo and TKO for your comments.

Tlance - thanks I did just trade Wilson for the Romo deal but now I have a chance to get him back or i can take Kaeps and use them as a back up.

Joe thanks for the definitive choice of Wilson.

DooBee thanks for comment even though you didn't realize it was a fanasty site. I had not known about the eminin rap thing. That's pretty darn cool.

Treff thanks bro I got to say I was heavily leaning towards Wilson but I think you have swayed me to goi with Kaeps. The word "cannon" got to me along with your other great points.

My take is that Russell is near perfect with his percision and I too believe he is very intelligent but his wr core (you just know Harvin will be down before game 3) is nowhere near what SF has just aquired and I am feeling a little hopeful that SF might even start becoming a passing team. The D is a little banged up so maybe thye will need to pass morewhile Seattle's D looks like it is just as strong.

Thanks again for the input guys.

You missed all the rumbling about there being major "differences of opinion" with the front office? There was even reports they might trade Harbs before the Draft. They may have made nice, but something ain't quite right there

Wilson has 52 ptds in 32 starts.

Kaep has 31 ptds in 27 starts.

Last year Wilson threw TDs to 9 different players. Kaep threw TDs to 3.

Wilson reads the field far better. He's the better prospect to be a true volume passer.
