according to some twitter action, burke wants read and JvR, homer says hell no.. burke 'settled on' jvr and a 1st for schenn and a 3rd

the lack of action on that makes me thing homer isn't interested anymore, which i like. no way that 1st should be in there.. if anything i'd be ok w/ jvr and a 2nd for schenn and a 3rd

I think they got that backwards should be Schenn & a 1st for JVR & a 3rd. JVR has shown flashes of brilliance at least, Schenn has just show he can be a steady 2nd pairing d-man so far.

That's a crock of horseshit. More like JvR and a 3rd for Schenn and a 1st. If Burke overvalues his players that much, then no deal will be made. We're in the playoffs. Toronto is on the outside looking in. There's no serious pressure for us to force a move.

Also, Read is in the group of players I wouldn't dare part with at this point. That includes at least G, Couturier and Schenn. I'm sure Homer agrees with me.

I take it you hate Briere then too. I mean he's basically doing the same thing as JVR the past few years during the reg season but he has the star tag attached to him while JVR is still considered a prospect by most. Obviously if NHL GM and scouts see something in him it's not being manufactured by members of the sports SportsHoopla boards.

IMO.. if they can get a top 4 dman for jvr that's under 28, they should do it.

I'm in total agreement we need a top 4 badly so it makes a lot of sense, Briere could go also but i think him being traded will hurt our playoff scoring and it will hurt cooter's development to have his mentor traded

Briere should go well before JVR his lack of production and contract hurt this team in the regular season. JVR has been playing hurt and once healthy and given top 6 time and insistent time on the PP will develop into a 30-40g a year guy. He just needs the ice time and consistent skilled line mates.

We just got rid of a 40 goal scorer who has done nothing else on the ice but score in Carter and look how bad that hurt us. We need a top 4 dman way more than we need a guy who may or may not delvelop into this scoring machine but realistically he does nothing else other than score if he even does mature into that player that you think. there are so many more parts of the game JVR doesnt do now nor will ever be able to do. Top 4 dman right now might bring us the cup this year and/ or maybe next year a lot more than waiting for this kid to do anything on the ice.
