You miss my point.

1. I dont think Leary costs $10 million against the cap. If you look at Lauvao's deal, he averaged $4.5 million a year against the cap. So I can see Leary getting between $5.5-7 million a year average, and costing no more than $5 million against the cap in year one. Shawn Lauvao Contract Details, Salary Cap Charges, Bonus Money | Over The Cap

2. The only reason I think he is poachable is because short of massive contract reworking, Dallas will still be hampered by the gift that keeps giving (the Romo Contract)

3. out making a single move, the Skins stand to have just shy of $60 million in cap space. Cut Hall, Lauvao and Litch, and we are at around $71 million in cap space. Meaning.. .we could Franchise tag Kirk ($24 million) and still have $47 million in which to resign Baker, add to the defense and STILL sign the target of my poaching. :D

Yes I have put thought into this before just throwing it out there. Bonus, if Kirk is signed long term, I dont expect his year one cap hit to be any more than $17 million.

OK - if they can somehow just pull off this move and replace Lauvoa with one player -fine. However - I would pretty much leave everything else alone. Just keep developing the current roster & do the best you can. It almost looks like people are ragging on this unit which is ridiculous.

They made some bad plays against a very good defense. Big deal. They still are giving up fewer sacks than all but one team in the NFL & the run blocking is not that bad when you consider that they don't have an elite running back nor a coach who emphasizes the run. Tweaking is perhaps in order but not wholesale changes. For God's sakes are we going back to the Vinny era?

Just remember that an O line performs as a unit and not just 5 individuals. The more consistency the better. Very few lines perform well when you are constantly making changes (although I will admit that the Redskins have done surprisingly well in this respect).

I can see getting rid of Lauvao but would be very cautious about making changes throughout the line. I certainly would not advocate spending really any more money finding replacements in this area - just too many holes on defense to warrant this approach.

Again, I have only really said two players need replaced. And one of the replacements is currently on our roster.

Slide Ty Nsexy over to RT, and replace Lauvao.

I think we have two weak spots on the O-line... LG and RT. Now if we some how came across a dominant Center, I would not be upset. But Lauvao needs gone, and RT needs an upgrade.

Remember also that this unit has been playing shorthanded quite often due to the suspension & numerous injuries to various players.

That works! Good plan.

I assume that you are making a dig at Moses with this reply. However - remember that this guy has been playing injured for a lot of the season. It is actually pretty remarkable that he is even out there playing. I think that people seem to ignore the effects of injuries at times.

My opinion... when healthy he is average. I think Ty Nye is a better OT and having him and Williams as our book ends for the next three years wouldnt hurt. I dont think Moses should be gotten rid of, but to be honest, I agree with SMGM that Ty is or SHOULD be a starter.

a couple of things to consider

my o/line is trent , ty long sherf and moses

ty is 31 and that means RT would need an upgrade in 3 years or so

i think we stopgap ty at LG stick with long at center and MM being avg doesnt seem to hurt us

we should always draft at least one o/dlineman in every draft and draft an OG in a BPA scenario could be a move to make as well

Leary...isn't he starting because of injury to Lapel Collins?

I could be mistaken. I still don't think I would spend on him.
