My take is teams that struggle late in the season have their flaws exposed and address and adjust them in time for the playoffs. Teams that do well during the regular season typically don't have their flaws really exposed during the season and get exposed in the playoffs when it's too late.

For the sake of argument let's say we ended the season against the Jags on our 5 game winning streak to go into the playoffs. We keep things status quo because we're winning, it works, so no need to change things and we lose in the first round to a team like Carolina because they found our flaws and exposed them.

But on the flip side losing to Carolina and losing to New Orleans is forcing everyone on offense to work harder at patching and adjusting those flaws so the team is better able to handle what other teams throw at them in the playoffs.

As far we're concerned I do feel we have the recipe to be that dangerous playoff team. Both Aldon Smith and Manningham are slowly getting their legs under them along with Crabtree who should get enough games under his belt to get his legs under him in time for the playoffs as well. The defense is stout and we're just a rough and tumble team that is built to play anywhere.
