Long also played against the Panthers and Chargers. Neither team has a DT in the same world as Atkins.

I expect Brandon Marshall to abuse our secondary.

There is absolutely 0 chance Long can block Atkins. Just not going to happen. If you double him all game....maybe, but then you just leave your tackles 1 on 1 with Johnson and Dunlap. Cutler will be hit......a lot.

I don't expect Long to handle Geno by himself. Mills another rook @ RT looked good also in his starting debut . And we signed Bushrod @ LT for a reason.

You're wrong about the 1 on 1s @ tackle. TEs & RBs come into play there. As a Bear fan I'm used to max protect schemes:lol:. Just don't know how T-man will use them. But I do know he believes in protecting the QB. Just don't think he'll get hit as much as you guys think. But I think he ( Jay ) won't be as productive as Bear nation thinks.

You guys have been boasting about how your top10 D will handle our O.
Just curious how you feel about our top 5 D going against your O?

I expect it will be a boring game. Not a lot of points for either side.

No offense, but I don't think you realize how dominant our defense is.. They gave up 10 pts a game a game the second half of the season, and didn't give up more than 20 pts in a game through that stretch and into the playoffs..

They should be the best defense in the league this year by a wide margin if they play up to their potential and avoid key injuries..

with that said, your QB is talented enough to beat anyone when he's on his game..

should be interesting

Definitely should be a low scoring game, though both teams do have weapons. I would feel pretty good if we could put 20 on the board. Not that I think it will be easy to do. I am confident our defense can hold you under 20, as I'm sure you feel the same way about your defense. Somebody probably wins this one something like 16-13.

Week one is always strange. While I expect our D to have a fantastic year, I wouldn't be shocked at all if the Bears caught us off guard. It's hard to play against a team with a new coaching staff and a new system at the start of the season. I also think special teams plays and mistakes tend to make a big difference at the beginning of the year, so the team that is more sharp coming into the season will have a big advantage here. I expect a low scoring bore but wouldn't be shocked by anything.

If Chi town starts the 2 rookie OL they are in trouble...if they can slow the rush I still say Chicago wins a close contest..... THEY ALWAYS WIN OPENERS! ALWAYS!!!!!!!!!!!! So we got to go in there house and take their breath away IMMEDIATELY or prepare to go home with an L..... Marshall and Hall will be interesting....Hall slowed him in 09 with the tipped pass for the win by Stokely...(brutal game to watch)....

Now on defense Tillman and Green will be interesting...do they have a healthy MLB?? is Dj OK??? We need to block Peppers who will be over Fatso.....many things many questions...We can win WILL WE WIN???? IDK!

Yeah, I know his competition wasn't the best. But PFF said they never gave a Guard a higher grade. I really didn't know what to expect from him. I expect he will still garner help vs Geno. But Kromer ( who I've got confidence in as a O-Line coach ) will keep Jay protected for a while. I think it'll be up to Jay as to how many sacks he takes.

I don't think the game will be dictated on what Geno does.
I think it will be determined on turn overs & what the team that gets them, does w/ them.

Forte scares me.

I think Forte is going to have a great season. I think Bennett was also a solid pick up that can be effective on that offense. In terms of the game, I see our d-line punishing the bears. Hopefully forcing Cutler into making some stupid throws. Agree with the others that the offenses for both sides will be really frustrating to watch. I think the Bengals have a better team and come out with the W.

I expect the game to be decided by turn overs & special teams play. I've been wrong before :L. So the score will probably be 42 - 40.

I do realize how good they are . That's why I picked you guys to win the division. Along w/ the O help they got Dalton in the draft, the TE & RB. Don't follow your team close enough to know know if they added a quality WR to go opposite A J. But if they did, would be icing on the cake.
As far as Jay, yeah he's talented. But he proved he can't do it by himself.

I expect it to be hard for either team to score points. But I've seen games projected as D battles end up being 42- 35. Football is crazy. That's why I love it. That said, I wouldn't be surprised to see 10-3 or 10-7 game. With special teams accounting for all the points.

:agree:W/ everything said.
Heck as Bear fan, and follow them w/ a magnifying glass. I don't know what to expect. But am confident we'll see a real O somewhere down the line. Just don't think it'll be week 1. Hope I'm wrong.

Being a homer & after watching the preseason. I have a better feel for my team.
I expect Tillman to get 1 on 1 vs AJ. But he fails vs faster guys ( Vincent Jackson burnt him many a time in 1 game) . So I expect AJ to score once . But once they put Jennings on him (w/help from the safeties). I think that'll stop.
I like your rook acquisitions. But they haven't seen the likes of Tillman. I think he gets 1 or 2 turn overs.
Jay looked like pro bowl QB vs Oakland ( yeah I know ) game 3 . But the O line actually gave him time to look good. Which was encouraging. I like what Trestman & Kromer are doing w/our O.
I said before I expect Turn overs to play a big part in this game.
Through the first 3 games. The 1rst D has gotten 12 of them. Pretty impressive.
Jay hasn't loss a home opener yet . 3 & 0 w/ 2 blow out wins (ATL & Indy ).

Bears 24 Cincy 13. But I've been wrong before.
