Separately... When will they renegotiate/re-sign?

A) This off season
B) During the season

Ouch.

So what is he worth?
Over/Under = Gerrit Cole Contract

What will he get?
Over/Under = Aaron Judge Contract
My guess is 12 years 480 million in order to get Soto to skip FA.

Over Judge's contract. Boras and he's very young for a free agent (he'll be a fresh 26 next winter). Soto's got a 157 OPS+ and 28.6 WAR in his first 6 seasons. There's a reasonable chance he's going to go down as one of the best hitters of this generation, if not all-time.

Are Yankee fans cool with Judge being the CF?

He looked very capable out there in 2022, I think you have to worry about him not getting hurt out there more than how he does out there.

Different players but that Ohtani deal may have just bumped Soto's price up $100 million. 10+, $600+.

Who gets this guy? 24 years old, not even necessarily in his prime yet. Can you imagine him in Yankee stadium with the short porch in right?
He gets in his head too much. He's going to go through times where that short porch is going to fuck with him.

I wouldn't worry too much about him. That guy has better plate discipline than probably anyone ever at his age.

Thats true but he did go through periods where he couldn't get out of his own way. Not everyone can handle New York. Giancarlo has hit 38 24 and 31 home runs as a Yankee if you thow out the first three years when he was hurt all year. He was supposed to be a monster.

I'll give you that. There are no guarantees how a player's power numbers are going to look, even with an apparent upgrade in ballparks. That being said he seems like a pretty safe bet to have a good year next year.
