Not sure if this should be under the free agency thread, but the Panthers just removed the franchise tag off of him. He'd look good in a Ram uni, eh?

Yep, we will won't sign this guy because we gave away too much money to some of our own guys like Barron.

not only Barron, but Johnson was hit with the tag and they have not worked out a cap friendly deal with him yet.

Exactly, we had to overpay ALL of our own guys because we were too stupid to lock up at least 1 or 2 before free agency hit. Signing them early would've ended up saving us money(even if the FO thought it would've been overpaying at the time)

Would have been cool to get him as we play the Giants this year! Rematch of him vs Odell Beckham. :mad2:

Really? We have over 15 mil in cap space just for him? Because that's what he'll be asking for.

That's what I heard as well, looking for $16M per.

Trade a QB and/or an oft-injured OG and clear some cap for a real player.

We will have some extra space because we have only 5 draft picks that include 2 # 4's and 2 # 6's.

True, but we also have to pay the #1 overall now instead of #15

That won't be as extensive as the last time we had the number one overall pick due to the CBA LTR.

I don't know which is worse, giving an unproven qb 50 million in guaranteed $$ or giving up the farm in draft picks for an unproven qb. :gaah:

I do, and it's the later, giving up all your draft stock.

In 2010 we really couldn't trade down like they can now because the CBA rookie salary now affords it. So we were stuck, and we were going to pay that whether we picked an NFL unproven QB or DE.

So by default it's the later of your two choices primarily because then, we were stuck with choice A or B.
With the former of your two choices, Snisher chose to make the move. :tsk: :L:gaah:

The former only works out better one way, and one way only. And that's IF the Rams' No. 1 overall becomes the Rams' Franchise QB. He actually doesn't even need to be elite, just the Guy our team can rally around for years to come.

A 29-year CB with a exactly ONE good season on his resume doesn't scare off any of you guys?

Not even a chance that he's a fluke playing with one of the best front 7's in 2015?
