Gordon is a talented but troubled player. He had several drug altercations in college and missed the early part of 2013 due to another failed drug test. I don't think the Pats need any more baggage than they already have.

No chance.

There is a very small handful I consider. He isn't close.

Josh Gordon for a fourth rounder(maybe a third) would be a solid move and an immediate upgrade. After the Hernandez situation, I think the Patriots are going to be gun shy on taking these types of players.

He is not an upgrade over anyone.

I would take a chance on him.

Amendola is just unstable can't rely on him, Boyce is doing nothing and could easily be sent down, Edlemen who is fianlly impressing me could use some support. I like Thompkins and as I said I am losing confidence in Dobson

If you're talking about 'taking a chance' on a player, the trade offer is a 5th, 6th, or 7th, with a 5th being offered only if you think he could turn out to be an elite talent.

I would not take him for free. I like what we have in the guys we have and he is not worth breaking that up.

Because josh Gordon is nothing special and the patriots already have a lot of the potential with less potential issues? He does not know the offense and would make this team much worse if they were forced to allow him time and reps to learn.

I am not sure how you can say he is not good. He lite it up yesterday with Hoyer as his QB and his first game back from missing the 1st two games. He is a field stretcher with good hands. Right now are WR are Dobson, KT, Boyce and Edelman. He can make a difference, esp if Amendola is out....everyone has their opinions, but I think it could be worth it. I mean we sent a draft pick for Salas last yr, and he was cut. Do I think Clev will want to much in return, sure, and I would not send anything higher than a 5th for him.

It's not the pick. It is the roster spot and the reps.

hes pretty good but id pass. im still pissed we didnt sign Ginn in the offseason we could of had him for peanuts. kick returner and deep threat. cam newton throwing bombs to him in carolina. id try and trade a lower pick for ginn than a higher pick for gordon.

Yeah that would have been nice... Just for having a kick returner alone! I don't want Eddelman returning kicks!

He's a big upgrade but if you think your young players will be good enough come January then the best move is to pass. He might be a 1st round talent so if you're not prepared to give up at least your projected low 2nd round pick you might as well move on to something else.

Not sure he is a " Big Upgrade " but regardless I think right now starting 3-0 the Pats have a lot of control where they want it. We are 2-0 in the division and facing NFCS opponents now so if a loss occurs to one of them its not as big a deal as and AFCE opponent. If the team had started 0-3 and progess was not evident with the young guys then maybe picking up a weapon would make sense. For now the Pats will stand "PAT", continue to develop the young guys and hope that all the pieces fall into place by December.
