Yep. He seriously is right on the verge. That last drive he hit felt like I was sitting back in 2000 watching again.

It might be a footnote, but Nebraska actually has in fact beaten Wisconsin while being a member of the conference.



They're not some unstoppable juggernaut (Ohio State showed that). Nebraska has better skill players. Wisconsin has just shown better coaching, line play, scheme, and sheer work ethic. Like a LOT better.

That's one thing I can thank Wisconsin for. They showed the uninformed majority of Nebraska's fans that Bo Pelini was bold faced lying to everyone when he said the reason Nebraska can't win more is because he can't recruit better players. Wisconsin is consistently ranked in the 40's in recruiting. Nebraska in the mid-20's.

If Nebraska doesn't dominate the west division in the next decade, Mike Riley will have failed.

With the divisions being what they are, it should be Nebraska and Wisconsin as Big 2 in the West. Iowa every 3-4 years, and Kill has Minnesota on the rise.

I have more faith(fear) in Nebraska getting stronger than in Wisconsin getting stronger. We will play the games though.

Of course we don't know about the heart and work ethic intangibles, but as an athlete he looks as good as Ameer in areas, yet faster.

I was always disappointed Ameer didn't have as much break away speed as I'd hoped. He'll out-work anybody though.

Just so we're all clear, this guy isn't Michael Jackson. Adam Taylor was coveted by Alabama. Terrell Newby was considered a much better prospect than Stevenson. His tape looks similar, if not better. He looks a lot like Aaron Green did honestly, and Aaron Green was considered a greek fucking god in most recruiting circles. (he's starting at TCU, a playoff contender, no?)

Bo Pleeny was wayyy over his head as a head coach. Many of us said that after the first 4 years, and were attacked as being non-fans.

I honestly don't think he'd survive as just a defensive coordinator in a top 10 program. I think he was using antiquated schemes that he'd learned as a position coach in pro-ball and that side of the ball has passed him by.

i.e. not a guru, but someone who had success with someone else's creativity until the game caught up.

And some of us said that on day 1 about him. Or at least I know 1 person that said from day 1.
