This makes me very happy ... Norwood is one of my favorite current Bronco players - he's a class act, is very valuable to have for returns, can be counted on for that clutch catch, and made one of heck of a play in the Super Bowl ..

Welcome back Mr Norwood

Denver Broncos bring back Jordan Norwood

Shamarko Thomas seems to be on the line when downing the ball .. Replay probably would have brought this out had it not been for the penalty when the Bronco sideline came onto the field ..

Great play by Norwood regardless ..

If only DT had balls this big

With the positives we've seen out of Norwood and especially Fowler plus all the recent Jordon Taylor praise thrown out there, along with DT and Sanders, this wr core should be in great shape as long as we have a qb that can utilise them correctly. :)

No doubt Randy

While watching that first GIF of Norwood's return vs the Steelers, Fowler comes into the picture out of nowhere - at first, I was like "Who's that LB on special teams who can run like that - and then I see the #16

Not sure that this is a fair assessment. DT took a whoopin' in the SB blowout a couple years ago. He was one of the few that actually came to play and kept playing when the rest of our team curled up into the fetal position.

Back to topic of thread, that was a great heads up play by Norwood. I am happy he is back.

Norwood is a great person, a hard worker and a great teammate. He doesn't have the physical tools, but he makes up for it in other ways. He is a religious person comes from a religious family. His younger brother signed with the Steelers, his older brother was part of the George Mason final 4 stunning team from about a decade ago.

While I would agree, he made great plays on that punt return and people are calling DT a pussy it was also risky. Bad things could have happened, glad they did not. He had a huge play in the SB taking a big risk and it paid off. Had it not paid off he could have been the goat! He is a decent slot WR's but we didn't get a ton of productivity out of him last year as a slot. He never really got his swag going because of our offensive wooes. I look forward to him challenging for a roster spot again this year and seeing what he can do once our O gets a little swag back. I don't think he is a long term PR for us but he came in when we needed him there and did decent and had the clutch return in the SB that we will never forget.

Glad Norwood is back.

I think the Bronco's philosophy is to encourage the players to take chances to make plays. The reason they wanted Norwood back was he is a guy who does that.

Not sure I agree that, that is our philosophy as much as he just did it.

Not often will a team tell you to field a punt with 2 guys standing there waiting. Lucky for us they weren't paying attention to the no fair catch call. :)

Not really when you consider the ball was touched before he picked it up though. ;)

DC, I could be wrong about this ( lord knows it wouldn't be the first time ) - but I am under the impression that even though a defender touches the ball as #29 Thomas did, it is still a live ball for the receiving team to pick up and advance ..

I think the fact that Thomas was on the line would have nullified the return, but the fact that he touched it would not have ..

Maybe I am completely off on this, but I think Norwood can advance the ball in that situation

In regards to my comment on DT

I just don't see that fiery desire in DT to say "ok, nothing is working, I AM TAKING CHARGE"

The fact that Norwood - a mild mannered 180 lb backup - does this makes it even more special, and makes me like him even more than I already do

Norwood definitely took a huge risk. With how our defense was playing in that game really the only thing that could stop us from winning was a ridiculous turnover at the worst time possible. So while I am glad with how the play turned out I wouldn't recommend he do that often especially in the Super Bowl of all places. Now I will say though can't play just to not lose so have to take a few chances but man that one probably only works like once out of a hundred tries. Just so happened it was that once.

I'm glad he is back. He adds some depth and adds a guy that we can suit up and give us more than just being a slot receiver. I'm very interested to see how our offense functions this year. Obviously still don't know who our starting QB is but I would think Kubiak gets somebody in that he knows will actually run his system. No more of this trying to blend 2 very opposite styles of systems.

Regardless of that play which worked out great both Norwood and Fowler made key plays all year. Glad we'll have both back to help this butt-fumble led offense in 2016. ;)

In the case of Norwood's return vs the Steelers, it was a legal play, and Norwood's TD would have stood had it not been for the Bronco players coming off the sideline ( which drew a flag )

There was no downside to what Norwood did - had he muffed picking the ball up, the Broncos would have retained possession at the spot where Thomas touched it ..

So a player on the receiving team can advance the ball even after a player on the kicking team has touched it
