we can draft that for about 9 mil less

But will they be as talented. According to your draft, do we draft NT in the 2nd I assume?

At the end of the day, we must walk away with new starters at the following positions after FA and the draft:

NT
ILB
RB
RG

I am pretty confident our 1st and 2nd rounders can start. Banking on a 3rd and 4th rounder to start is tricky and I highly doubt it happens. That is the reason we need to find another starter in FA. We can't gamble on the draft solving all of our problems. I wish we could but this team doesn't draft well and having Bruce run the draft gives me ZERO confidence in our strategy and the players we take.

twitter is saying 10 mil plus per season
What he was asking for, and what he's going to get are 2 different things. It's part of negotiating. He might end up being a bargain - the way things are going.

Exactly. Its fun to come up with our mock drafts and everything but if you are putting blind faith in Bruce to address these glaring needs then I am not sure I can help you.

I want to build through the draft but the team is such a disaster, we have to rely on FA to plug the numerous immediate holes. Its just the way it is now. In theory, if we draft well and continue to do so, we will shy away from using FA that much.

Just signing Hankins alone would be huge for us going into the draft

FA is different than the draft. Bruce is not a talent evaluator for sure. FA I think is more about negotiating and strategy. I think the FA period is much easier to manage the draft for sure.

Yes, it was LG. Thanks for the catch.

I am praying one day that Arie K. steps up and takes that spot and he very well might this offseason.

and its not working out either our dline is still a train wreck

Agreed. Our Safety situation is better but the DLine is about the same, the WR corp is much worse and the rest of the team is the same.

This was not the FA period we needed to have. I honestly need to run this team....I am serious.

We will have to agree to disagree. I think the draft is much more cerebral and difficult than FA. The cap part of FA can obviously be tricky but I would wager that most GMs and experts that working the draft is a much more in depth and difficult process than FA.

Bottom line is NO, I am not putting my faith in Bruce for FA and I have been right about that as well. We have squandered a chance to be much improved.

Come on Skinsdad...don't be that naive. Adding Pryor does not equal losing DJax and Garcon. We are the only team in NFL history to lose two 1,000 yard WRs. I like Pryor but he can't get 2,000 yards receiving. Counting on Doctson to do anything is foolish as well. He is 25 and can't stay healthy. They are still being criptic about him. Hopefully he get us 500 yards but he will not make up for losing either Garcon or DJax.

You don't pay a guy $6 million or more to be a one or two down player. That is horrendous cap management.
