The Red Wings have agreed to terms with goaltender Joey MacDonald on a two-year deal.

MacDonald appeared in 15 games in 2010-11, posting a 5-5-3 record with a career-best 2.58 GAA and a .917 SV%.

I think it depends on the cap space that they plan on using for the rest of FA. He's probably good enough to play the support role.

Good move by the Wings, imo, Joey was solid last year. But, we will still sign a backup for Jimmy. (probably)

i like joey macdonald. great 3rd stringer and could fill in ina pinch if #1 or #2 goes down. but wings still looking for a serviceable backup, i would imagine.
