Also no way Iowa State is going to repeat their performance from last year which was good for them but still just average.
About the way I feel about Auburn.

No reason to have faith in FSU right now. Clearly last year they had major personnel issues, and now they're bringing in a green head coach who has a ton to prove. VT is alright, they'd be competitive in the Big 12, but ultimately finish around 4-5. Miami is a national fraud, plain and simple.I’ve got way more faith in FSU, VT and Miami then I do Texas, WV and TCU.

You are saying they don't have the best team. I'm not saying they do. This is about the conference as a whole. You keep talking about last season. The SEC has 2 really good teams and about 4-5 good-average teams then the rest. The Big has abut 5 pretty good teams and some average teams.
If this was about which conference had the top 2 teams then I'd say SEC. But that isn't what we're talking about.
Both conferences have so many teams they each have 5-6 that just aren't good.
The same thread that had Clemson “overrated“ the previous year? The B1G has 5 teams ranked in the top 15, and that's not including Northwestern who won 10 games last year, Iowa who won 8 games last year, or Purdue who won 7. That means 8 of the 12 teams in the conference won 7+ games last year, and all but 1 won their bowl game.
The ACC has Clemson, who is elite, and Miami who is universally being regarded as the most overrated team in the top 25 (see the thread on this board, for example). Then there's VT who won 9 games and FSU who won 7. You want to talk about living off past reputation, and yet you're touting Florida State??
Let's see how good NC State is after losing the heart of their defense and a ton of their offensive weapons.
Here's how I'd order the teams in both conferences:
Clemson
Oklahoma
West Virginia
TCU
Texas
Miami
Florida State
Oklahoma State
Va Tech
Iowa State
NC State
Kansas State
Wake Forest
Louisville
After that, put them however you want, it's mostly junk at this point. Clemson is the top team of these two conferences, but after that, I see a big gap filled by the Big 12. Maybe Miami proves everyone wrong, I don't know, but nothing about them scares me as an opposing coach. They were extremely fortunate last year to even be above .500. FSU is still a huge enigma, as is their coach (with a career losing record), so I have a hard time placing them highly.
Which is it?
Or does having 6 teams ranked below #60 in the massey composite mean anything?
How I previously had them? If you're talking about the top 25 thread, that's my guess at the top 25. You are right, I totally forgot about BC. Slide them in between OK State and Va Tech. You could be right about those Big 12 teams losing their significant OOC game, sure.Well if that's how you're ranking them, I can see why you'd have the Big 12 as better. But that isn't how you previously had them. I don't even see Boston College on the list(far drop from top 20) and you had VT as being better than Oklahoma State. The good thing about both these conferences is they have opportunity OOC to pick up nice wins. My guess is that TCU, UT, ISU, and KSU will all lose their significant OOC games, however.
Going to have to disagree with you there. I don't think they have an elite team, other conferences have 1 or 2 and I think the bottom 4 or 5 of the B1G is worse than the bottom 4 or 5 of any other conference. Yes, Oregon St and Kansas are worse then the worst B1G team, but Texas Tech, West Virginia, Florida, Ole Miss, Florida St and Pitt are way better than Rutgers and Minnesota.

I thought they'd be ranked higher in the polls. If those teams played on the field right now, I'd put my money on Texas and Okie State. You had BC being better than Texas, and VT being better than Oklahoma State. But don't now. That is a dramatic difference from what you thought a couple weeks ago.

Then why'd you rank the teams the way you did if you think other teams are better? Lmao.
Depending on the definition of elite. I think they have a team or two that should end up in the top 5.
Hey, now! Don't be dissin' the P-40s.UL Monroe
OkYou're not making any sense.
