If you think the university isn't trying to suppress the video, I've got some land on Texoma I'll give you a decent deal on.

You just accused the Judge who ruled to not release the video is being bribed by the university. Are judges for hire? Sure we have had some cases but if you think for one minute anyone from the University is going to break the law trying to keep a player on the team, whoa boy that's some fucking dumb shit.

If this is the best you got, you would've been better off not hitting the submit button. Oklahoma has one of the strictest compliance programs in the country. Guaranteed they didn't try to handle this like FSU did Winston. So... Go fish.
Have you watched the video of the FSU QB who was kicked out of school for his actions? Do you believe he got screwed over?

I barely recall seeing it once, and I don't know enough about it to comment.

Finally, some honesty.

I however am in favor of kicking players off the team who get fucked up and crash their vehicles into buildings putting countless lives at risk and then fleeing the scene.

Here is the video. Should he be on FSU still?

There's more to that decision than the video alone. I need to know a lot more to have an educated opinion on it. What were the events leading up to it? Why was he trying to push past her, and why was she holding him back. From the beginning of the video we see them with their hands on each other. What events lead up to that causing that scene. She did punch him first, but who made physical contact first? Was she charged? Why or why not? Lots of questions that can affect the thought process here

It's up to the school/team to determine how they want to deal with it. If they don't think he is a distraction to the team, then I have no problem with teams keeping a guy on. If the player has prior issues and isn't deemed worth the trouble, then that's fine as well. It's up to them to decide what is best.

If the story happened the way his attorney says it did, I would've had no problem with how the university chose to handle his discipline whether they chose to kick him out of school or handle it in a way similar to how Mixon was handled. It is at the universities discretion as to how they choose to handle each individual case. I would've had no problem had Oklahoma chose to remove Mixon from the university, and I have no problem with the punishment he received given his lack of prior issues and the girl's history and lack of formal punishment she received. I have no idea what the FSU player's prior history looked like. I'll say this, FSU had already been dealing with the Winston situations and knew they were under a microscope. I have no doubt no matter how it all actually went down, that worked against him.

Again, the video only shows a few seconds, and frankly I question whether the story his attorney tells is accurate. He did admit to making contact with her first, and frankly it doesn't appear like he's simply trying to push past her to get to the bar to order a drink. It looks to me like he's trying to get at somebody, and we don't know what happened leading up to that moment. She did knee him in the groin and punched him in the face, but after watching that video I have to think there's more to the story than he's telling. It does look to me like she deserved charges as well.

Like I've always said. I would have been perfectly fine if they kicked him off the team. But I'm also fine with with the punishment that was dished out and with how he had to earn his way back. There were several parameters besides the suspension that he had to do to work his way back to the team. A lot of people seem to forget that. And in truth, even most OU fans will tell you he was going to transfer. But from everything I've heard his Dad flew from California several times and talked him out of it. Basically telling him he fucked up and your not running from this. Face it like a man and try to become a better person and learn from it.

Absolutely no one is condoning what he did. It was stupid, dumb, and arrogant. But he was also very young, in a new environment, and in a combative situation where he made a very very poor decision. Their are several decisions I wish I had back at that age although nothing to this extent.

Trust me. He was given very strict guidelines in order just to play football again and besides some a few "hater" tweets, I've heard nothing bad about him anywhere. He came in with a "diva" label early but his teammates absolutely love him. One of the hardest workers on the team and coaches compare him to AD and Striker with "how much they love practice and getting better".

The only thing about Mixon that didn't sit right with me was his answer to the question if he had any regrets from that night. His responded he didn't have any regrets
I agree every school is different and the talent of the player has a lot to do with the leniency schools will have in different situations
I don't have an issue one way or the other. I think the biggest issue he will have is yet to come. The NFL is where his poor decision is going to really bite him in the ass.

Kid was being fired questions from every angle. To admit he had a "regret" would be something a lawyer would exploit on a civil suit. A 19 year old kid was handling a difficult situation as best he could. You want to be mad at somebody, be mad at the piece of shit vulture "journalists" who were trying to get their pound of flesh off the kid after being explicitly told in advance that he would be answering football questions only, and then chose to ignore that and try to get their agendas in.

What would regret have to do with a civil case? He took a plea deal in the case, so guilt has already been established.
If anything, admitting he made a mistake and expressing any type of remorse would help him in the long run.
And I don't get the pound of flesh and media having an agenda, etc. It comes with the territory when you play major college football and it isn't going to change if he goes on to the NFL. Outside of murder or r*pe, I'm not sure you could do something much worse than knocking a woman unconscious with a punch. Of course the media is going to be all over it.
Do I agree with how the media is? No. But it is consistent across the board for all athletes, celebrities, etc.

You really don't get how the legal system and civil cases work, do you?

I absolutely do. If he were found not guilty, then I could understand not expressing regret. He took a plea deal -- is he going to say he was just kidding about the plea deal during the civil suit?
On top of all that -- they have it on video. What is his defense going to be? That wasn't me in the video and I took a plea deal to get it over with and accepted a 1 year suspension from my school too?
The civil suit is a foregone conclusion when she files it. It isnt if she will win the case, it is how much will she win.

Talk to his lawyer. He's the one giving him legal advice. I'd reckon he knows more than you.

Funny because earlier in this thread you were pulling this bullshit:

I believe 4MnB20. He obviously knows the criminal justices system better than the guy who went to law school and works the cases on a daily basis.
The other thread makes a hell of a lot more sense now that I got to read the responses in here. :pound:

Your sentiment is shared amongst most of your fanbase. Boys will be boys just keep them on the field right? Somewhere Art Briles is reading this and smiling.
