On the trade thing: I've seen a few rumors about him being actively shopped, but no interested parties. Not that such a thing is really shocking. Can't think of many teams that can take on his salary let alone his personality in the locker room.

It's a long season, though. And, it's not like the Caps record is terrible. That team is loaded, I wouldn't be worried that much, yet.

Instead of this fire Bruce deal, maybe they need to pull a trade on someone, like a Semin... if someone will have him, or someone else, exluding Ovie. Wake them up a bit.

Maybe that is a position they could look to move. Isn't there a young defenseman in Hershey that is close to being ready? And like Ritari pointed out in another thread, your recent powerplay struggles are fairly obvious to diagnose without Mike Green.
