Looks like I will be looking for a new NFL team to root for since I would have to actively root against the lions should Tressel be part of the organization.

This is very funny. There are so many Michigan fans that are Detroit fans also.

I think Tressel is a great coach. Hopefully things will work well for him.

A man who won NC at two different team on 2 different levels? Makes more sense that 90% of other hires.

At the college level, and he wasn't an offensive mastermind or known for it at either level...

It is a weird hire...

What?? It makes more sense as a HC than as an OC. Buckeyes never ran an innovative offense. That logic defies logic. If that is the case I think Saban would make a great OC. Urban could be DC in the NFL.
Tressel's teams in Total offense:

07: #9 (11 in big 10 at time)
08: #9
09: #7
10: #2

One offense in his last 4 yrs that finished in the top half of the league and you think it is an intelligent hire.

There was a rumor that WVU was saving a spot for him at the end of '15 (possibly even HC should Holgo continue to struggle). I don't remember how long the show cause for him is in place but that sounds about right as far as him getting back in the college level, a year in the pros as a cord makes sense. If memory serves George O'Leary did about the same thing did he not?
