The Cowboys are going to have to do some creative and dramatic salary cap decisions to resign Dez. I highly doubt Dez will go into next season without a new contract, especially if he thinks Jerry is going to franchise him after his loyalty and taking a HUGE career risk. But should Dallas keep restructuring and pushing back the inevitable to keep him?
We all know he is immensely talented and that TD catch today was absolutely incredible. But for a team that throws a lot he is currently 22nd in receiving yards behinds the likes of Julian Edelmann, Brian Hartline, and Harry Douglas. Even Pierre Garcon has 250 yards on him. Dez has 908 yards after 14 games. Would you, as the Cowboys GM, break the bank to resign him at 65, 75 million knowing that he hasnt put up huge numbers? Would you let him go to someone like the Rams who could give you a 1st round pick for him and pick up a young player at a low salary instead. Curious to hear what you guys say. 75 million for the 22nd ranked WR in the NFL on a pass heavy team (with some attitude issues on top)?
