All of this is non-guaranteed and we can lower his cap number for the next two years by negotiating an extension. He's wanted -- but the Seahawks have refused to give him -- a new contract since he signed one back in 2013.

The money part could make sense for both teams. The issue is what the Seahawks would ask for in trade.

Jarrett, if he comes back from injury, can play safety. We've also got D-Hall. But we may also target a FA safety like Tashaun Gipson.

If I knew my job couldnt fire me and thus cost me $4 million dollars... I might be tempted to say my knee was still hurt too. Because the reality is, if he milks it and we PUP him through camp and then IR him for the season, He makes $4 million.

If he comes in ready to run routes and drop balls, we cut him, and he loses $4 million dollars.
