With Boldin being a free agent at the end of this season, would you consider signing Maclin to a on-year deal for the right price? He's coming off a torn ACL in his right knee. He has been productive for the Eagles from 2009-12 averaging 64 catches, 863 yards and 6 TDs per season. Would definitely want to resign Boldin, but if his asking price is too high, would Maclin be an option? How much would you offer Maclin for a one-year contract?

Nope. I'd try to re-sign Boldin.

:agree: Boldin brings so much toughness and grit to our WR core and it would be the opposite with Maclin who could bring a deep threat to the offense but coming off an ACL worries me if he may have lost a step.

I'd stay away from Maclin. No counting on injury-prone players like Seattle did with Harvin.

Re-sign Boldin. His game will age fine. I would give him 2 yrs/10 mill or 3 yrs/12 mil.

I agree. Maclin is smaller and injury prone just like Harvin. Resign Boldin and draft a successor to groom

Toby, if Boldin asks for a 2 year deal, what should the Niners' offer?

I don't know about the money, but I'd sign him for two years. They can always cut him if he slows down to much in the second year.

If boldin couldn't be resigned than I wouldn't mind them going after maclin on a fair deal.

However I prefer we try to resign boldin 2-3 yrs and work on Crabtree next year.

If we're going to sign an injury prone WR from Missouri, I'd rather try a low risk contract with Danario Alexander. And yes, I would much rather have Boldin back.

No, we have to sign someone from either the Broncos or the Patriots. We always sign someone from the other Super Bowl team. Jacobs, Manningham, Boldin… Decker? Please no Amandola, he'll just get injured. Then again, so did Manningham and Jacobs.

It depends if Maclin wants stats or winning. If you wants statistical output, he might go to Kansas City due to Andy Reid. Now, you might say that you can't get stats with Alex Smith, but here he wouldn't be the number one option. We would be going to Crabtree. Smith goes to his second and third receiver more. You know, after the tight end or running back. ;)

I love Maclin. I was looking at his injury history and this acl was his only major injury. I wouldn't label him injury prone for minor bone bruises and stuff like that.

With that said, I would still rather have Boldin on a two year deal.

He tore the same ACL in college.
