Yeah I now that is what Homer is thinking. In reality he will play for what this contracts is worth a few times every few weeks

11 years is a bit long, but in today's NHL you have to sow the seed before you can reap the harvest. The length ensures the price.

And a 5.27M cap hit is very manageable. Carter wanted to stay.

I'm a big Carter fan - unlike many on here - so in my eyes, this is a fantastic move. However, I do understand the skepticism.
